PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Mary Trump, the estranged niece of Donald Trump, criticized her uncle following reports that the former president was "too exhausted" to do interviews.

As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Mary, a vocal critic of the Republican presidential candidate, sarcastically expressed her "shock" over the reports in a post on X.

Mary Trump calls out Donald Trump's fast-food habits

Mocking Donald Trump reportedly being tired of doing interviews, Mary Trump wrote, "I am truly shocked that Donald is 'too exhausted' to do interviews."

"He eats so well and works out so frequently," she quipped, referencing the former president's well-documented fast-food habits and aversion to regular exercise.

Both campaigns are entering the final stretch, with Vice President Kamala Harris' team ramping up its media presence.

Harris' team has launched a robust digital and TV ad campaign and made a significant appearance on Charlamagne tha God's podcast to court Black voters.

She also secured a rare solo interview on Fox News with Bret Baier recently.

Trump, on the other hand, has kept busy with several media engagements, including a women-only town hall hosted by Fox's Harris Faulkner and a Hispanic town hall on Univision.

However, despite his active schedule, reports surfaced that the former president was pulling out of interviews due to exhaustion.

Trump canceled appearances on CBS's 60 Minutes, NBC's Philadelphia affiliate, and CNBC's Squawk Box, according to Newsweek.

Mary Trump's reaction to Trump campaign footage

Mary Trump added to the ridicule in a separate post on X, reacting to a viral video clip of Donald Trump during a campaign event in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

In the video, shared by journalist Aaron Rupar, Trump appears to briefly "nod off" during a roundtable discussion.

"I'll put $5 down on unconscious before closing statements. Who's with me?" joked Mary.

Donald Trump's team denies reports on his struggle to keep up with election campaign

Despite these reports, Donald Trump’s national press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, firmly denied any suggestion that the former president was struggling to keep up with his campaign schedule due to exhaustion.

Leavitt called the reports "unequivocally false," insisting that the 78-year-old politician was maintaining a rigorous campaign pace and conducting media interviews daily.

"President Trump is running laps around Kamala Harris on the campaign trail," said Leavitt.

"He has more energy and a harder work ethic than anyone in politics," she added.

Trump's team has also reportedly been in discussions to arrange an interview with 'The Shade Room', an Instagram-based media outlet with a large young Black audience.

However, one of Trump’s advisers told producers that the interview had not been scheduled due to the former president being "exhausted and refusing [some] interviews, but that could change," according to Politico’s Playbook.
