WASHINGTON, DC: In‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ a video being circulated on social media platforms, The Daily Wire presenter Matt Walsh came to the defense of Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk

Walsh sharply condemned people who have questioned or criticized Erika’s demeanor in the weeks following her husband’s death, telling them to “shut the f**k up” and accusing them of lacking basic standards of human decency.

Matt Walsh blasts online critics for targeting a grieving widow

Walsh began the video by directly addressing critics who have floated vague and nonspecific accusations about Erika’s behavior.

“If she doesn't cry, they say, 'Why isn't she crying?' So it's this; it's this ridiculous lose-lose scenario that's been invented by people on both sides for this woman,” said Walsh.

“Why is everyone attacking her? Why is it every day I go on Twitter and it's like someone, what is it? What did she do? What did she do to you people? Her husband died... is that the sin that she committed? Losing her husband?” Walsh kept going. "I am so sick of it... It's just disgusting."

He continued by criticizing those who speculate without evidence or justification, calling it a violation of basic empathy.

“If you think there’s something a little off, but you have no evidence she did anything wrong, and you just have these vague vibes… Maybe rather than vaguely defaming a widow for reasons you’re not even clear about… maybe rather than doing that you should just shut the f**k up!” Walsh said, raising his voice. “Okay? How about that?”

While calling out on empathy and understanding people’s grief, Walsh emotionally said, “It's like the basic rule of human decency that we all used to understand is, when you've got someone who's grieving, like, rather than nitpicking, ‘Oh, I wouldn't do it that way; that's not the facial expression I would have,’ maybe you just shut up.”

Walsh‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ admitted that he usually refrains from using profanity in his public speech, but he pointed out that the continuous bashing of Erika made him go against his norm and express himself in a more straightforward manner.

"I'm so, I'm so sick of it; I'm so tired of it," he said, and as a final shot, he once again lashed out at those who could not help but mock a grieving widow in the virtual ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌world.
