NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Podcaster Megyn Kelly’s 'barely legal' remark about Jeffrey Epstein’s victims has sparked widespread attention. The comment drew sharp criticism from celebrities, critics, and social media users alike.

Now, Meghan McCain has weighed in, confronting Kelly with a pointed question: since when is it considered 'socially acceptable' to discuss someone like Epstein and his crimes in such a manner? McCain added, “It’s all vile. It’s all disgusting. It’s completely unacceptable. It should all land you in jail.”

Meghan McCain blasts Megyn Kelly over ‘barely legal’ comment

On her podcast 'Citizen McCain,' she didn’t hold back, saying, “It’s disgusting and I don’t care. I want to know why. I just don’t understand the point of this conversation other than to rile up, offend, and get people upset.”

McCain challenged Kelly directly, asking, “Are we going to have a discussion about if a 15-year-old is a kid or not and what implications it means if you’re a man who’s attracted to a 15-year-old, like is that somehow better than a 5-year-old?”

“This is all vile. It’s all disgusting. It’s all unacceptable. It all should put you in jail,” McCain added. Reflecting on her own past mistakes on camera, she noted, “I’ve certainly said things on camera that I regret and were mistaken. It was nothing like this.”

McCain also criticized Kelly’s use of the phrase “barely legal,” calling it “obviously insane." I also think the term ‘barely legal’ is a p*** term. It’s not like a legal term. I don’t understand why that was being used.”

She concluded firmly, “Fifteen is a kid. And the idea that in any situation, a 15-year-old should be considered anything except a child. I just don’t understand it. And it doesn’t matter what you and I think."

“It doesn’t matter what Megan Kelly thinks. What matters is what the law says. And the law says that 18 and under is considered a legal child,” she continued.

Megyn Kelly sparks backlash with defense of Epstein

Megyn Kelly made controversial remarks on her show regarding Epstein, suggesting that he couldn’t be labeled as someone attracted to very young girls. Kelly said, “There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a 5-year-old,” implying that Epstein’s preference for teenage girls did not make him a criminal.

She added, “I’m just giving you facts that he wasn’t into, like, eight-year-olds. But he liked the very young teen types that could pass for even younger than they were, but would look legal to a passerby.”

Her comments immediately drew criticism. Strategist Ally Sammarco warned that the remarks could be “career-ending” for Kelly. Former child actresses Melissa Gilbert and Christina Ricci also slammed her.
