LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of her podcast, 'Citizen McCain,' Meghan McCain expressed strong skepticism about President Joe Biden’s Covid-19 diagnosis, suggesting that the announcement might be a strategic move rather than a medical reality.

According to McCain, the daughter of the late Senator John McCain and a former host of 'The View,' voiced her doubts about the president's health and criticized the administration’s transparency.

According to the Dailybeast, earlier this week, just hours after President Biden had stated that he would only withdraw from his reelection campaign in the event of a serious “medical condition,” it was announced that he had tested positive for Covid-19. Consequently, Biden had to cancel his keynote speech in Las Vegas and enter a period of self-isolation.

On her podcast, McCain did not hold back her frustration, describing the Covid-19 news as an “egregious” lie at a “level we’ve never seen in politics.”

She also expressed her belief that the announcement “might just be an excuse for him to step down gracefully.” Her comments reveal a deep-seated distrust of the Biden administration’s honesty and openness about the president’s health.

Reflecting on a previous episode of her podcast, McCain had already compared Biden’s performance in recent public appearances to the cognitive decline she witnessed in her father as he battled brain cancer.

During that discussion, she had described her feelings of “sadness, discomfort, and fear” as she observed Biden’s debate performance.

Despite Biden’s long-standing friendship with her father and the emotional moment they shared on 'The View,' where Biden consoled her during her father’s illness, McCain has since become a vocal critic of the president.

She had once praised Biden for his empathy and decency, calling him “one of the truly decent and compassionate men in all of American politics,” but has since shifted her stance.

In the latest podcast episode, McCain continued her critique, expressing doubts about the legitimacy of Biden’s COVID-19 diagnosis. “We are very close to Biden stepping down,” she stated.

“I don’t even know if at this point I believe President Biden has Covid. I think there is a trust deficit with the American public, certainly with me and the Biden administration’s candidness and transparency regarding Biden’s health. I don’t know if I believe he actually has Covid.”

McCain also took time to address other political issues, including her criticism of Trump’s vice-presidential pick JD Vance, whom she deemed “too inexperienced,” and her view of the latest RNC as a “funeral” for “traditional conservatism.”

Campaign memo asserts Biden’s commitment to 2024 race

According to a campaign memo released on Friday, President Joe Biden is firmly committed to his re-election bid.

According to BBC, The memo emphasizes that Biden is not stepping down from the race, despite recent speculation. It states, “Joe Biden has made it more than clear: He’s in this race and he’s in it to win it.”

The memo further clarifies that Biden is the “presumptive nominee” for the Democratic Party and that there are no plans for an alternative candidate.

The memo urges Democrats to unite and focus on defeating Donald Trump, asserting, “There is no plan for an alternative nominee. In a few short weeks, Joe Biden will be the official nominee. It is high past time we stop fighting one another. The only person who wins when we fight is Donald Trump.”
