LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Meghan McCain, the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, made a startling comparison between her father's and Joe Biden's alleged mental decline in this week's episode of her podcast 'Citizen McCain'. During the episode, Meghan claimed to know "what cognitive decline looks like."

Invoking her father's illness, McCain added fuel to the fire amid growing concern for the President's mental fitness and criticism for seeking reelection.

Meghan McCain praised Joe Biden for his empathy and kindness

According to Daily Beast, it's difficult to imagine that John McCain would have approved of this move, given that he had continued to serve his duties throughout his health decline, albeit in a diminished capacity.

“My dad died of brain cancer,” McCain said on her podcast this week, “I know what cognitive decline looks like in one way or another. I think any caregiver for an aging parent knows that—and to me, I felt saddened and uncomfortable and then very scared,” McCain said after watching Biden’s June 27 debate performance.

As someone who has personally experienced numerous family tragedies while in public life, Biden—whose son Beau Biden passed away from brain cancer in the same manner as John McCain—has been known to offer his inspirational views on coping with grief and the loss of a loved one.

McCain frequently commended Biden for his empathy, citing an instance in which he consoled her during a 2017 appearance on 'The View' as her father's cancer worsened. The moment quickly went viral.

Biden shifted seats to sit beside her as she started to cry while talking about her father's illness. “One of the things that gave Beau courage was John [McCain],” he informed her and continued offering words of comfort, “You may remember, when you were a little kid, your dad took care of my Beau.”

Meghan McCain expressed her support for Joe Biden in 2020 presidential campaign

John McCain and Joe Biden were colleagues in the Senate and longtime friends. In an interview with Conan O'Brien last year, Biden disclosed that he had paired John with Meghan's mother, Cindy McCain, his wife.

McCain demanded "more compassion" for Biden in 2019, two years after that viral moment, following allegations from multiple women that he had touched them in an overly familiar manner.

Meghan McCain supported him for the 2020 presidential campaign the next year.

But things changed, and in 2021, following his speech about the end of the Afghanistan war, McCain took to X to declare, "I do not recognize this man," and "God help our country," despite their familial ties.

She compared supporters of both party nominees to "cult worship" earlier this week, tweeting that those who continue to believe in Biden despite his dismal debate performance are "the same as the hysterical Trump defenders."

Internet slams Meghan McCain

As soon as the news went viral on social media, users started reacting to it. One said, "I bet she forgot all about this and will trash Biden, even though Joe only had good things to say about her father, unlike Trump who bashed him big time verbally."

Another user added, "She’s already begun dragging Biden. Super disappointing."

A commentator wrote, "Something is seriously wrong with her."

"It's not his stutter that is the problem. It's the moments of freezing and his brain stuttering and needing to reboot," another individual remarked about Biden.
