MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: In a video that has gone viral, former first lady Melania Trump was accused of "dodging" a kiss from her husband Donald Trump, at the Republican National Convention on July 18.

The incident took place during Donald Trump's acceptance speech following his official confirmation as the Republican Party's nominee for president, according to Newsweek.

Donald Trump mentioned in the address the July 13 assassination attempt on his life, in which he was shot in the ear. He told the crowd in Milwaukee, "I felt very safe because I had God on my side...I stand with you in this arena only by the grace of Almighty God."

He leaned in to kiss his wife on the lips just after the speech, which she seemed to 'dodge'. Journalist Aaron Rupar posted the video on X, formerly Twitter, accusing the former first lady of 'dodging Trump's kiss'.

The pair exited the platform together, hand in hand, after Melania Trump was shown in the video turning her cheek to her husband as he tried to kiss her.

The former first lady has attempted to avoid her husband's kiss on earlier occasions as well. In August 2020, she ducked a kiss from the former president after he had given a speech at the Republican National Convention.
