On Wednesday, September 18, the former First Lady and wife of Donald Trump defended her nude modeling career in a fourth promotional video for her book 'Melania,' which she shared on her social media accounts.

"Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work?" Melania asked in a voiceover in the 45-second video.

"The more pressing question is, why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?" the 54-year-old added.

Melania Trump's nude modeling career

Melania Trump was photographed nude in 1995 for a French adult magazine and again in 2000 on her now-husband's private jet for British GQ magazine, according to the New York Post.

During the GQ shoot, she was in a nearly two-year-long relationship with the billionaire real estate magnate. The duo tied the knot in 2005 and welcomed their only son in 2006.

Nevertheless, Melania's pictures did not have full-frontal nudity, and it made headlines when Trump ran for president in 2016.

According to photographer Antoine Verglas, the future First Lady declined to do "full nudity."

"Melania was a very reserved person. She was definitely not someone who you would see in nightclubs or going out a lot," he said to ABC News at the time. The photographer further praised Melania as a "pretty down to earth, very nice, very warm" person.

Internet slams Melania Trump for defending her nude modeling

Outraged by Melania Trump's defense of her nude modeling, netizens claimed she was using the controversy to promote her upcoming memoir.

"Oh good grief. Is this really what we need right now? Is this really the fight we need to be picking!" a user wrote.

"Because you don't have anything worthwhile to say?" another remarked.

"This is why I think Melania is a horrible person, not because she modled nude," added a user.

"She’s gotta sell some books. The grift never ends," read another response.

"She’s picks this to do while her husband is on the campaign trail. Living separate lives for sure. Such a dysfunctional family!" someone else opined.

"She's inventing a non-existent media attack on her to generate publicity for her new book yet another classic Trump grift in action," an individual said.

"She’s silent for years and then THIS is what wakes her up?? Sheesh," another user said.

"Yeah that's like an addict saying we are supposed to be addicts leave us alone! she is a flake..," read one remark.
