Donald Trump's response to the Mar-a-Lago raid

Mar-a-Lago was raided on August 8, 2022, by the FBI in connection to Donald Trump's classified documents case.

“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said at the time, according to CNN. “They even broke into my safe.”

The former president has repeatedly criticized the raid and also called it “politically motivated.”

In May, he falsely claimed in a fundraising email, that President Joe Biden was "locked & loaded ready to take me out."

In a post on Truth Social, he claimed Biden had ordered DOJ to use deadly force in their search for classified documents.

The accusations followed after a misreading of an unsealed court filing forced the FBI to come up with a statement.

Attorney General Merrick Garland also had to weigh in and call the accusations "false" and "extremely dangerous" in a press conference in May.

Donald Trump says Melania Trump felt 'very violated' during Mar-a-Lago searches

Agents retrieved more than 100 classified documents and folders in the search. Donald Trump faced 40 charges connected to his purported mishandling of classified records and efforts to hinder the government's retrieval of them.

US District Judge Aileen Cannon in July dismissed the case, ruling Special Counsel Jack Smith was not lawfully appointed. Smith shortly after appealed the ruling.

The ex-president said in late 2022 that Melania felt “very violated” after the FBI executed the search of their home. “She felt very violated. I mean, this is a terrible thing,” he said according to The Hill.

“They go into her closet, they go through her dresses, and who knows what else, and it wasn’t left the way it — they found it," he added.

Internet sympathizes with Melania Trump, calls Joe Biden's prosecution for ordering Trump's 'murder'

Scores of Republican supporters commented in favor of Melania Trump. While some shared sympathy, few suggested prosecution of Joe Biden for ordering Donald Trump's "murder" if elected.

"Our beautiful, elegant First Lady. We need Trump president so we can prosecute who tried to murder him! Prayers always being sent to the Trump family," wrote one on X.

Another wrote, "We stand with you always Melania!"

Amid controversy surrounding Laura Loomer, users could hold back but ask, "Why is Laura Loomer closer to your husband than you are?" asked one in the post comments.

"Melania, you have every right to be angry at what the US government has done to you and your family. God Bless you," wrote one more.

Another said, "The raid on Mar-A-Lago was a disgusting and abusive overreach of the federal government led by Biden/Harris."
