WASHINGTON, DC: Melania Trump’s friends are slamming media conglomerate Conde Nast after their fashion bible Vogue published a scathing op-ed on the first lady’s official White House portrait.

After the Anna Wintour-helmed magazine received brutal criticism from fans for dissing Melania’s black-and-white official portrait, the first lady’s pals are also taking digs at the media house.

Bill White, Melania’s friend, and President Donald Trump’s nominee for US Ambassador to Belgium, recently spoke to Page Six, slamming ‘Conde Nasty’ for sneering at the official portrait.

Speaking to Page Six, White said of the first lady, “We love and adore her. We have cancelled all our subscriptions to Condé NASTY. I encourage everyone who loves America to do the same.”

White further praised the Slovenia-born first lady, adding Melania is “truly elegant and eloquent in all she says and does. Mrs Trump is our most beautiful first lady… in our country’s history, both inside and out.”

“She is a loving mother to her fabulous son Barron and an extraordinary wife and life partner to our 47th president,” added the politician of the 54-year-old former model, before noting, “She speaks over seven languages fluently, and is an incredibly strategic and successful businesswoman.”

On January 27, the White House released the black-and-white official portrait of Melania, which was photographed by Regine Mahaux. The first lady, dressed in a suave black tuxedo paired with a crisp white shirt, slightly leaned forward and rested her hands on a table as she posed for the photograph.

However, her powerful pose was referred by Vogue to be more befitting for a guest appearance at her husband’s reality show ‘The Apprentice’, as reported by Fox News.

In the article, Vogue's Hannah Jackson wrote, "Trump’s clothing certainly didn’t help the boardroom pastiche," and added, "The first lady wore a black Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo jacket with satin trimmed lapels over a white button-up, which she paired with a Ralph Lauren cummerbund and trousers."

"The choice to wear a tuxedo—as opposed to a blazer or blouse—made Trump look more like a freelance magician than a public servant," continued Jackson in the piece.

She added, "It’s perhaps unsurprising that a woman who lived in a gold-encrusted penthouse, whose fame is so intertwined with a reality television empire, would refuse to abandon theatrics—even when faced with 248 years of tradition.”

Melania Trump ‘doesn’t care’ about scathing criticism

While Melania’s latest powerful photograph garnered harsh criticism from a section of fashion pundits, another MAGA supporter shared with Page Six that the first lady doesn’t care if she has been called a “magician” by the outlet.

Referencing all the criticisms hurled at Melania and her husband, the source shared, “They don’t care they call her a ‘magician’… Magician might have been the nicest thing they have said about her.”

The fashion outlet’s criticism came just at the heels of Melania’s interview where she said she has “no interest” in gracing the cover of Vogue.

“Look, I’ve been there on the covers — on the cover of Vogue, on the covers of many magazines before…,” told the mother-of-one to ‘Fox & Friends’ host Brian Kilmeade, before firmly declaring, “We have so many other important things to do than to be on the cover of any magazine. I think that life would not change for anybody if I’m on the cover.”

The source reflected on Melania’s words, noting, “She knew she wasn’t going to get a cover. Half the fashion designers won’t dress her. She doesn’t give a s**t.”

“The first time around, she got no covers of any major magazines. It’s behind her. The media always destroys her and its what she’s gone through for eight years,” added the insider.
