PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Melania Trump has willingly accommodated tech billionaire Elon Musk spending a significant amount of time with her husband, President-elect Donald Trump, at their Mar-a-Lago residence, People reported on Monday, January 6.

Trump has used his Palm Beach property as an unofficial MAGA headquarters to hold political events and meetings before and after the 2024 general election. Musk has been one of his biggest donors during his second successful presidential campaign and has since been named co-chair of the unofficial federal Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Days after the election on November 4, CNN host Kaitlan Collins reported Musk being present with Trump at Mar-a-Lago "nearly every single day." His activities have reportedly included sitting in on phone calls with world leaders, and "weighing in" on White House staffing decisions.

Melania Trump's reaction to Elon Musk's extended stay at Mar-a-Lago

Multiple sources told People Melania views Elon Musk's association with Donald Trump as a net positive, even as he spent New Year's Eve with her family.

“Melania is glad to have a babysitter for Donald, and she will find some kind of project to team up with him herself if he stays around,” quipped an insider. "Melania has her own life and isn't bothered by political dealings her husband has with others. But so far, she has no issues with Musk."

Another source insisted Melania tends to avoid Trump's political life, saying, "Melania is in good spirits and does her own thing, and is not bothered one way or the other by Musk hanging around."

"For the most part, she is not involved with subjects her husband is discussing with Musk or anyone else hanging around him. Right now, Trump has a lot of people wanting things from him. She is all too aware of that," they added.

"Melania is glad to have her husband busy with his work," stated a third source, "and so far Musk is part of that mindset."
