WASHINGTON. DC: First Lady Melania Trump called for calm and national unity as tensions remain high in Minneapolis following the fatal shootings of two civilians by federal agents.

Speaking on 'Fox & Friends' with Ainsley Earhardt on Tuesday, Melania Trump said the focus should be on keeping peace and preventing further unrest.

She noted that President Donald Trump has spoken with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and said the administration is working with local leaders to avoid violence.

“We need to unify,” Melania said, adding that protests should remain peaceful and not turn destructive.

Melania Trump's unity call

Melania Trump said she opposes violence and urged demonstrators to express their anger without harming others or damaging property.

“If you protest, protest in peace,” she said, as demonstrations continue in the city after the shootings.

Melania also addressed Americans affected by a major winter storm that has caused freezing temperatures, heavy snowfall and widespread power outages across several states.

She said she feels deep compassion for families impacted by the storm and stressed the importance of helping one another during difficult times.

Melania added that the federal government is working to assist those in need.

Melania talks about her documentary

Melania Trump was appearing on 'Fox & Friends' to discuss her upcoming documentary film 'Melania' which is set for global release later this week.

A private screening of the film was held at the White House over the weekend.

Speaking to Ainsley Earhardt, she said, “This story was never told before, so the audience will see me- how I manage my business, my philanthropy, family preparation for the inauguration and also establishing the East Wing for the White House- how I manage all of that in 20 days prior to the inauguration”.

Melania added, “I had an intense schedule but that is my life. I had a great team and a talented director”.

Praising the Bidens, she said, “They were nice on the inauguration day and it was a very cordial relationship between us.”
