WASHINGTON, DC: A new survey released this week shows that most Americans prefer first lady Melania Trump’s 2025 White House Christmas decorations over the designs revealed by former first lady Jill Biden in 2024.
The poll, conducted by JL Partners for the Daily Mail, found that 61% chose Trump’s holiday decor, while 39% favored Biden’s look when respondents saw photos without names attached.

Her decor outperformed Obama's by a larger margin. In another comparison, 67% chose Trump's style over Obama's 2016 decorations. Among Democrats, Trump's look was favored 62% to 38%.
Pollsters used a ‘nameless’ format, presenting photos without identifying which first lady was responsible for the decor. They said this approach was intended to reduce bias based on the individuals themselves and focus responses more on aesthetic taste.

For Melania Trump, the favorable results mark a notable contrast with a moment that resurfaced from her previous time as first lady.
Christmas 2025 at White House
This year’s display includes 51 Christmas trees throughout the White House.
The official tree — an 18½-foot concolor fir from Korson’s Tree Farms in Michigan — took its traditional place of honor in the Blue Room after being delivered by two Clydesdale horses pulling a horse-drawn carriage, paying tribute to holiday traditions of the past.
Meanwhile, the Green Room has a fun, family-friendly vibe. The decor turns the space into a ‘game room,’ featuring playing cards, dominoes, and even LEGO portraits of two US presidents.
These are the first president, George Washington, and the current president, Donald Trump, both made from over 6,000 LEGO pieces.
In the State Dining Room, there is a striking gingerbread model of the White House, built from 120 pounds of gingerbread dough.
The decorations have been arranged to represent more than just holiday cheer. Mrs Trump’s theme celebrates the home as a place of love, warmth, and shared memories. She believes these values are particularly meaningful during times of movement and change.
The display also honors military sacrifice. The Blue Room tree serves as a touching tribute to families who have lost loved ones in service to the nation.
Moreover, the decor ties into broader celebrations around America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, weaving in patriotic motifs and national symbols in various rooms of the mansion.
