WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) is once again raising concerns about President Donald Trump’s health.

She questioned why Trump keeps mentioning taking multiple cognitive tests and called the repeated emphasis “not normal.”

This comes after Trump again claimed he achieved ‘perfect health’ on a cognitive exam. The discussion over transparency, presidential fitness, and age has reignited while the White House sought to dismiss the criticism.

In a post on X, Stansbury wrote, “Why is the President of the United States taking multiple and repeated cognitive tests? This. Is. Not. Normal.”

Her remarks quickly gained traction online, drawing attention not only for their substance but also because of Stansbury’s previous, highly visible protest during a presidential appearance in Congress.

Stansbury was the first Democrat to make her protest clear as Trump walked into the House chamber during a 2025 address.

She stood by the center aisle holding a handwritten sign that said, “This is not normal.” That protest has become a defining image tied to her current criticism, linking broader concerns about presidential conduct to the administration’s handling of health information.

Trump claims perfect cognitive test scores

Trump continues to assert that he is in excellent physical and mental health. He recently mentioned taking a cognitive test for the third time and acing it.

He described his health as “perfect” and suggested that anyone running for president or vice president should take the same cognitive test.

“The White House Doctors have just reported that I am in ‘PERFECT HEALTH,’ and that I ‘ACED’ (meaning, was correct on 100% of the questions asked!) for the third straight time, my Cognitive Examination, something which no other President, or previous Vice President, was willing to take. P.S.” Trump said.

Trump added, “I strongly believe that anyone running for President or Vice President should be mandatorily forced to take a strong, meaningful, and proven cognitive examination. Our great country cannot be run by ‘STUPID’ or INCOMPETENT PEOPLE!”

Democrats, including Stansbury, have pushed back, arguing that the repeated public emphasis on cognitive testing itself raises questions about his fitness for office.
