WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump shared an update about his health on Truth Social on Friday, January 2. He said that doctors had the White House report that he was in “perfect health” and had “aced” his cognitive examination for the third time in a row.

This information came soon after the president spoke to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) in an exclusive interview published on Thursday.

There, he dismissed speculations about him being unfit and in poor health, while admitting that he wished he hadn’t gotten his medical tests done in October 2025 because it gave ammunition to the media to falsely report about his health.

Trump suggests mandatory examination for presidential candidates

In the Truth Social post, Donald Trump revealed that he correctly answered “100%” of the questions that he was asked during his third cognitive examination.

He added that there had been no other president or vice president in the past who had been willing to take the cognitive examination.

The president also shared his thoughts on the requirements for the presidential and vice presidential candidates. He wrote that candidates should be “mandatorily forced” to take a strong, meaningful, and proven cognitive examination.

“Our great country cannot be run by  STUPID and INCOMPETENT People,” he added.

Trump believes his October scans gave the media 'ammunition'

While speaking to the Wall Street Journal, the president revealed that he regretted undergoing advanced abdominal and cardiovascular imaging in October 2at the Walter Reed National Military Center.

Explaining further, he said that it was “too bad” he took it because “it gave them a little ammunition.”

He added that he would have been “a lot better off” if they hadn’t, because his submitting to the screening gave them a reason to talk about his health even more, even though there was nothing wrong with him.

Donald Trump also noted that he was tired of constantly having to address his health, and chalked up his good health to his genetics, as he told the WSJ that his parents were active in later life as well.

During the interview, Trump also solved the mystery of his hand bruises, revealing that he had sensitive skin. He also said that the bruising was due to him taking a higher dose of aspirin than typically recommended.
