Trump addresses hand bruises, insists health remains 'perfect' despite ongoing speculation
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump started the year by addressing the ongoing speculation about his health, as he denied claims once again about it being anything other than “perfect.”
While speaking to the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, January 1, Trump opened up about the ongoing buzz around the mysterious bruising on his hand, explaining that it was due to the aspirin he was prescribed.
As he commented on it further, he revealed that he was taking a higher than recommended dosage of the medicine and that his doctors had suggested he lower it, as it was something he had been doing for more than two decades.
Trump admits to covering up hand bruises with makeup
While speaking to The Wall Street Journal in a recent interview, the president stated that he had fragile skin and remembered an incident when Attorney General Pam Bondi accidentally injured him in July 2024.
At the time, Bondi’s ring clipped the back of Donald Trump’s hand while giving him a high five during the Republican National Convention, which caused a “slight cut.”
He revealed that he would use makeup in cases such as that to cover up cuts and bruises. Trump said it was “easy to put on” and took “10 seconds.”
Trump reveals he never needed an MRI
As he further discussed speculations about his health, the president clarified that his health was “perfect.” However, he was on board with addressing it for the “25th time.”
On October 10, Donald Trump visited the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. While he initially claimed that he had to get an MRI, he clarified during the Wall Street Journal interview that it was “less than that.”
“It was a scan,” he explained.
He also commented on undergoing cardiovascular and abdominal scans, wishing that he hadn’t. Trump said that it gave the media and his opponents “ammunition” to use against him, although there was nothing wrong with his health.
On Thursday, the White House publicly revealed the results of Trump’s cardiovascular and abdominal scans in a press conference.
Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, read out the summary of Dr Sean Barbabella’s assessment, which gave Trump a clear bill of health.

Leavitt said that the advanced imaging that Trump underwent was part of a “comprehensive executive physical plan,” and was done as a preventive measure.
