LUMBER RIVER STATE PARK, NORTH CAROLINA: Shocking court documents have surfaced, revealing allegations that Mica Miller's pastor husband, John Paul Miller, groomed her for years before their marriage, and even committed her to a hospital to steal her car.
The distressing claims emerged following Mica's death by suicide on April 27, where she was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Lumber River State Park in North Carolina. Days before her death, Mica had served her husband, Miller, with divorce papers.
Auto theft and suspicions of fraudulent hospitalization surface
Court documents shed light on a troubling history, with a police report detailing an alleged auto theft involving Mica's silver Honda Accord. 'When the complainant was discharged from the hospital, hospital staff informed her that her husband picked up her purse and her keys," the February 2023 report stated.
"The complainant believed that her husband fraudulently initiated her involuntary hospitalization and "stole" her care while she was in the hospital." Mica's interactions with law enforcement revealed she and her husband had been separated since January of that year, per Daily Mail.
"The complainant stated that she has known her husband since she was ten-years-old and that he "groomed" her while she worked for him at Solid Rock Church until they were married," the report stated.
Revelations of infidelity surface amid calls for justice
In response to Mica's allegations, Miller claimed that her hospitalization stemmed from a "reckless episode" due to poor mental health, which he asserted occurred annually around Christmas. He justified seizing the vehicle as a precautionary measure to prevent it from being sold during this period of crisis.
In the aftermath of her tragic death, friends and family rallied for 'justice for Mica' outside the church where Miller previously worked. Revelations have also surfaced regarding his pursuit of other romantic interests while still legally married to Mica, including flirtatious exchanges with a waitress named Christiana.
"I asked him if anything was new, and he more or less said yes, lots new, LOL, I'll text later," she said confirming LOL stands for "laugh out loud," reported NewsNation. The waitress clarified that she interacted with the pastor with the intention of revealing his conduct after developing suspicions regarding his marital status.
New evidence adds to mystery surrounding Mica Miller's death
Authorities have recently made public images and audio recordings of Mica in the period preceding her death, contributing to speculation surrounding the circumstances. This conjecture was amplified by a peculiar video wherein the victim's husband casually disclosed her suicide to congregants following a church service.
As investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Mica's death, evidence released by the Robeson County Sheriff's Office suggests that she had been contemplating suicide.
