LUMBER RIVER STATE PARK, NORTH CAROLINA: The wife of a pastor in South Carolina, Mica Miller, reportedly told her sister before she died that her husband was to blame if she was discovered with a "bullet in her head."

Mica Miller died unexpectedly last month. According to police, Mica's body was discovered at a state park in North Carolina on April 27 with a gunshot wound to the head.

On April 28, Mica Miller's husband, John-Paul Miller, claimed she killed herself following a routine sermon.

Mica Miller's family expresses concern about her death

Mica's family and friends quickly expressed concern that her suicide claim was false, pointing out that it occurred a few weeks after she filed for divorce from John-Paul, who was allegedly abusive towards her.

The family of a South Carolina pastor's wife urged authorities not to heed "false narratives" and to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

In filings submitted to Horry County Probate Court, two of Mica Miller's siblings assert that their sister expressed fear for her safety during the divorce proceedings.

Mica's sister Sierra Francis, in an affidavit petitioning to be designated as the special administrator of Mica's estate, disclosed that Mica frequently told her, "If I end up with a bullet in my head, it was JP," WSPA reported.

"JP" stands for Mica's spouse, John-Paul Miller, who serves as senior pastor at Market Common's Solid Rock Church.

Francis further stated that Mica harbored hope for a future without John-Paul due to his purported history of violence against her.

“My sister also expressed to me that she was fearful that she would not make it to the divorce and that her life would be taken from her,” Sierra Francis wrote. “It is my belief that she told multiple people, including other family members.”

Nathaniel Francis, in his statement of belief, asserted that Mica confided many of those same concerns to him.

“Mica confided in me that John-Paul moved her belongings out of their marital residence … so that he could ‘keep an eye on her,'" Nathaniel said. “Following this, Mica then retained an attorney for the purposes of filing for divorce from her husband and joined a new church.”

Furthermore, Nathaniel Francis mentioned that he had previously received correspondence from John-Paul, in which John-Paul stated that he "knew of no reason for divorce but desired a separation and provided explanations for his decision."

In his affidavit, Nathaniel Francis claimed that Mica had forwarded an email from her husband apologizing for the "tires and causing damage to her vehicle."

“Mr. Miller’s email to my sister continued to state that he was angry when Mica confided or ‘put her family before’ him and that made him want to hurt her, ‘When someone hurts me, I try to hurt them back rather than forgive’ and ‘instead of me forgiving you … I just attack and try to cause pain,'” the affidavit stated.

Mica had been subtly indicating potential struggles behind closed doors through the ominous captions of her final Facebook posts.

The most recent image she shared was a selfie from April 9 with the words, “When terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE things happen to you… (you all know what I’m talking about) RPF: resting calm face.”

Internet believes John-Paul 'murdered' his wife

A source shared a copy of the affidavit stating, "'If I wind up dead with a bullet in my head, it was not by me, it was JP.' Court affidavit from Mica Miller's sister, making some serious allegations."

As the news that John-Paul was being blamed for Mica Miller's death spread rapidly on social media, many people began sharing their opinions, with some believing that he was responsible for his wife's death.

A user wrote, "There is no doubt in my mind he murdered her. May he soon face the consequences."

Another user added, " I wouldn't doubt for a moment that he had some help with this. A love triangle in these situations is not unheard of. It will be interesting to see what comes out next."

A commentator suggests, "This makes no sense... She filed for divorce and a protective restraining order to escape the abuse from her husband. Shortly after she comes up dead… and suicide is the conclusion? The family needs to hire a private investigator and have a secondary autopsy done!"

"Hope they keep this case open with multiple experts investigating. There’s more to this story than suicide," a person concluded.
