WASHINGTON, DC: Michael Cohen, who was once Donald Trump’s longtime personal attorney and fixer, says the president is poised to turn on his wealthiest ally, Elon Musk.

Cohen claimed he had long seen the end of the Trump-Musk “bromance” coming during an appearance on MSNBC on Sunday, June 1.

He warned that Trump, driven by jealousy over Musk’s immense wealth, could weaponize the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to scrutinize the federal subsidies that helped fuel Musk’s fortune.

The comments come as tensions escalate between the two, following Musk’s recent departure from his advisory role in the Trump administration.

Michael Cohen claims Donald Trump will eventually go after Elon Musk's money

During an MSNBC panel on 'The Weekend: Primetime', Michael Cohen predicted the impending collapse of the once-close relationship between Donald Trump and Elon Musk

"I said from very start that this bromance was going to come to an end," the 58-year-old shared.

"I’m going to say Trump will ultimately go after Elon’s money next, because it bothers him that he is the richest man in the world. Yes, he used him for his money. Now he’s going to go and he’s going to figure out how Elon, with his companies, took advantage of the United States of America," he added.

Cohen warned that Trump could use DOGE as a tool to go after the federal subsidies that helped build Musk’s fortune, particularly electric vehicle tax credits, as per The Daily Beast.

“They’re going to turn around, use DOGE to go, ‘Right, government efficiency, fraud, waste, and abuse. How is it that he got $7,000 as a credit for every Tesla vehicle that was sold? That’s where his billions were made. Why should the United States pay for electric vehicles? Pay your own car if that’s what you want.’ So they’re going to claw it back,” Cohen claimed.

He even compared Trump’s potential actions to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s 2017 crackdown on the country’s wealthy elites, warning, “He’s going to do to Elon Musk, my prediction, what Mohammed bin Salman did to the other members of the royal family.”
