BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Michelle Obama is worried—but not for herself. Sitting down on the 'On Purpose with Jay Shetty' podcast, the 61-year-old former first lady opened up about how today’s immigration situation is apparently what keeps her tossing and turning at night.

“In this current climate, for me it’s what’s happening to immigrants,” Michelle shared when asked about her latest "test of fear."

“It’s not the fear for myself anymore. I drive around in a four-car motorcade with a police escort. I’m Michelle Obama. I do still worry about my daughters in the world, even though they are somewhat recognizable," she continued.

She admitted that her bubble is bulletproof, but it's a different story out there in the "streets" of Chicago. “My fears are for what I know is happening out there in streets all over the city,” she insisted.

Michelle Obama wasn’t alone on the podcast. She was accompanied by her brother and 'IMO' podcast co-host Craig Robinson.

Craig recounted how, as a child, a Black cop once accused him of stealing a brand-new bike. Michelle drew a direct line from her brother’s childhood trauma to the plight of migrants today, the New York Post reported.

“There’s so much bias and so much racism and so much ignorance that fuels those kind of choices,” she said. “I worry for people of color all over this country, and I don’t know that we will have the advocates to protect everybody."

“And that … frightens me, it keeps me up at night,” she added. “How do you feel comfortable going to work, going to school, when you know that there could be people out here judging you and who could upend your life in a second — that’s who I worry for right now.”

Michelle Obama throws shade at Donald Trump without naming him

Michelle Obama managed to slam President Donald Trump’s immigration policies without actually mentioning him, but it wasn’t exactly subtle.

She shared. “Now that we have leadership that is, sort of, indiscriminately determining who belongs and who doesn’t," before adding, “We know that those decisions aren’t being made with courts and with due process.”

The complaints line up neatly with Democratic accusations that Trump abused old laws like the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to fast-track deportations. Meanwhile, Trump has made the US-Mexico border his personal project and is kicking up deportations left and right.

Michelle Obama reveals why she skipped Donald Trump’s inauguration

As for why Michelle Obama infamously skipped Trump’s inauguration in January while Barack Obama showed up solo, apparently, it all came down to wardrobe issues.

“It started with not having anything to wear,” Michelle admitted last week on her podcast, 'IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson'.

She explained, “I walk around with the right dress, I travel with clothes just in case something pops off. So I was like, if I’m not going to do this thing, I got to tell my team, I don’t even want to have a dress ready, right? Because it’s so easy to just say, let me do the right thing.”

Michelle insisted that her decision wasn’t about politics; it was just logistics. Of course, her no-shows at both Trump’s inauguration and President Jimmy Carter’s funeral (where Barack showed up alone again) sparked endless rumors about trouble in paradise.

“My decision to skip the inauguration, what people don’t realize, or my decision to make choices at the beginning of this year that suited me, were met with such ridicule and criticism,” she complained, adding, “People couldn’t believe that I was saying no for any other reason, that they had to assume that my marriage was falling apart, you know?”
