Parton, Cyrus’ godmother, was 80 when she died after a brief battle with cancer.

Now, after the tragedy, an old interview with the ‘Hannah Montana’ actress has resurfaced, where she talked about the importance of August 25 following the release of one of her biggest singles, ‘Used to Be Young,’ in 2023.

Two years ago, on her ABC special ‘Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions)’, Cyrus said, “I decided to release ‘Used to Be Young’ on August 25 because this particular date historically has been important to me personally and in my career.”

Though she did not get into the details at the time, reports have said that the 33-year-old singer and her ex Liam Hemsworth broke up for a short time on August 25, 2010.

Then, on August 25, 2013, Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ was released, and on the same day, her controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance with Robin Thicke happened.

Also on the personal front, the star’s famous singer dad Billy Ray Cyrus’ birthday is on August 25.

This eerie revelation came as Cyrus mourned the death of Parton, with whom she shares a special bond.

Calling the late global icon her “aunt,” the ‘Party in the USA’ hitmaker said, “Our most sacred moments were private, and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.”

“I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things,” she added in her tribute.

Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus worked together on several projects

Cyrus and Parton had collaborated on multiple projects and also co-hosted NBC’s 2023 ‘Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party’, about which the late legend said, “This is the thrill of my life.”

“We know how much I’ve loved her since she was a lil’ ol’ bitty thing. Now she’s a big ol’ thing, and I still love her. I will always love you,” Parton added at the time.

Besides, during an interview with Business Insider, the ‘9 to 5’ singer shared, “Even when we were rehearsing, Miley was crying. The fact that we were singing so well together stirred up our emotions very much. Then we went into 'I Will Always Love You' and she would just have these tears coming down, and it was so emotional.”
