LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: TV host and actor Montel Williams took aim at MAGA for confusing him as Sean 'Diddy' Combs in a now-deleted post with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

After Combs' recent arrest on charges of sex trafficking, a MAGA account on X posted a now-deleted video of Kamala Harris with Williams from 2001 but misidentified Williams as Diddy, per The Daily Beast.

The post read, "Here is P Diddy with Kamala Harris. P Diddy has been arrested for sex trafficking! Who thinks he should expose everyone in Hollywood?"

Williams reshared the post and captioned it, "Here they go again with 'all black people look alike…'"

A community note under the deleted post, per The Daily Beast, read, "This is not P Diddy and Kamala Harris. It is Montel Williams and Kamala Harris."

Another user reposted a viral digitally altered image from the 2001 event that Harris attended with Williams, but falsely depicted the VP with Diddy. The post clarified, "Agent Provocateurs, Paid contractors that get their 4am talking points are posting this OBVIOUSLY altered image around. This is actually a picture of Montel Williams, his daughter, and a younger Kamala Harris. It has been photoshopped to show Combs."

Williams has been vocal against the MAGA diatribe aimed at Harris in recent weeks, including that he and Harris had a brief fling before she was married to her now husband Doug Emhoff.

Williams wrote in an X post in 2019, "@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what? I have great respect for [Senator] Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?"

Montel Williams shows support for Kamala Harris as presidential nominee

When President Joe Biden stepped down from the presidential race and endorsed Kamala Harris as the new nominee, Williams initially seemed to withhold support for her and suggested Maryland governor Wes Moore's name at the time.

He tweeted on a repost of Moore’s statement on Biden’s withdrawal, "I'd love to see @iamwesmoore leading the ticket or otherwise on my ballot and I’m ready to campaign. I’ve watched @GovWesMoore lead my home state of Maryland, and I know leadership when I see it."

Williams addressed why he publicly supported the Maryland governor before Harris, "Is anyone surprised I am interested in a politician who also went to the Naval Academy and whose leadership has impressed me?"

Eventually, Williams showed his support for Harris by reposting Moore's endorsement of her and then sharing the action with the caption 'Reminding folks I RT’d this'.
