LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent segment on 'Morning Joe,' hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, along with commentator Charlie Sykes, expressed incredulity at Republicans choosing Donald Trump's as their presidential candidate at Super Tuesday as they played gaffee-filled speeches from his weekend campaign rallies.

The footage showcased the former president struggling with words, mixing up Joe Biden and Barack Obama, and even referring to Argentina as "a great guy."

Sykes criticizes Trump's nomination prospect amidst speech gaffes and legal troubles

Charlie Sykes, author of 'How the Right Lost Its Mind', didn't mince words, declaring Trump to be "deranged, demented, and pathetic," emphasizing that he "looks lost."

Sykes lamented the situation, saying, "As we’re sitting here talking about this, we’re less than 48 hours away from that guy clinching the Republican presidential nomination. The Republicans have one last out and they’re not going to take it."

The hosts played a montage of consistent speech gaffes, raising concerns about Trump's mental acuity. During rallies in North Carolina and Virginia, Trump claimed that Argentina's president is "a big Trump guy," displaying confusion about the South American country.

In another instance, he mentioned speaking with the leader of the Taliban, claiming the latter addressed him as "your highness."

Sykes reflected on this, stating, "They look at this guy — and I don’t have to repeat all of the things, you know, he’s been found viable for rape, he’s facing 91 felony charges — you have this gaseous malice that you get from these gaffe-filled speeches, and they’re looking at him like, ‘Yeah, we’d like four more years of that.’”

Scarborough and Sykes critique Trump's communication skills and republican choices

Joe Scarborough, commenting on Trump's teleprompter usage, noted instances where the former president blanked out and mixed up Obama and Biden.

Describing the scenes as "pathetic and sad," Scarborough portrayed Trump as "an old man who is losing his ability to communicate." Scarborough continued, calling the 77-year-old politician "an old man who is losing his ability to communicate."

Sykes, acknowledging Biden's age, remarked, "Unfortunately, I’m not a psychiatrist. What’s on display is, OK, Joe Biden is old, but the other guy is deranged, demented, and pathetic, as you point out — not to mention, dangerous. And this is on display."

The discussion extended to Trump's likely nomination as the Republican presidential candidate, with Sykes lamenting that Republicans seem willing to embrace another term of Trump.
