MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell calls RFK Jr 'Jeffrey Dahmer of the animal kingdom' over Trump endorsement
WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell launched a scathing critique of Robert F Kennedy Jr on Monday, August 26, labeling the former presidential candidate a "disgrace" to his family and comparing him with serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
The liberal political commentator's comments were triggered by RFK Jr's recent endorsement of Donald Trump.
Lawrence O’Donnell says RFK Jr has now 'fully disgraced' the Kennedy name
On his MSNBC show, Lawrence O'Donnell declared, "The Jeffrey Dahmer of the animal kingdom has horrified his family almost as much as Jeffrey Dahmer horrified his by endorsing the most horrifying Republican presidential nominee in history."
He further criticized the 70-year-old for tarnishing the "beatific glow around the name Robert Kennedy" that had stood since he was assassinated in 1968. O'Donnell asserted that his son has now "fully disgraced" the Kennedy name.
RFK Jr's controversial endorsement has also drawn disapproval from his own family members. On Friday, five of his siblings issued a statement condemning his support of Trump as a "betrayal."
Jack Schlossberg, the 31-year-old grandson of former President John F Kennedy, ridiculed his cousin's decision, stating, "Never been less surprised in my life. Been saying it for over a year—RFK Jr. is for sale, works for Trump."

Robert F Kennedy Jr's endorsement came during a lengthy speech in Phoenix on Friday afternoon, in which he took over 20 minutes to mention Donald Trump.
The 70-year-old declared that he would try to remove his name from the ballot in 10 battleground states as his presence in the race would hurt Trump. However, he made it clear that his name would remain on the ballot in most states and urged his supporters to vote for him in November.
O'Donnell took issue with RFK's remarks from the address, particularly those alleging media bias.
"On July 12, 2023, I issued a public invitation to Robert Kennedy Jr. to appear on this program at the time of his choosing, and he never chose to do that," said the MSNBC host, adding, "If he does show up, I’ll make it easy, easy on him by giving him the first question ahead of time."
Just hours after the Phoenix event, RFK Jr appeared at a Trump campaign rally in Arizona, sealing his new alignment with a handshake and hug. The former third-party candidate has also been added to Trump's tentative transition team, a development that likely would not have occurred without his endorsement.
