DETROIT, MICHIGAN: Donald Trump called himself "highly educated" and bragged about his sophisticated vocabulary during a campaign stop in Detroit, Michigan, on Monday, August 26.

The event marked the GOP nominee's seventh visit to the Great Lakes State this year, and the first day of a busy week for the presidential campaign in the battleground state, according to OK! Magazine.

Donald Trump calls himself 'highly sophisticated and highly educated'

Donald Trump told the crowd on Monday, "These people are just so destructive, so— I always look for good words, highly sophisticated, and I'm highly educated. I like sophisticated words. There's only one word I get — that's stupid. Stupid people."

This comes just days after the GOP nominee struggled to pronounce the word "regulatory" during a Pennsylvania rally. He faltered in pronouncing the word while accusing his opponent Kamala Harris of pursuing a "regulatory jihad" aimed at shutting down power plants across the country on August 19.

In April, he faced a problem pronouncing "infrastructure" during a campaign rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Other than his verbal slip-ups, Trump, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania's famed Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, is known for his typo-ridden social media tirades.

Donald Trump vows to prevent 'World War III' during Detroit speech

During his Monday address at the National Guard conference, Donald Trump laid out his plans for the military if reelected, promising to increase military pay and veteran support. He also vowed to prevent "World War III," "restore world peace," and to expel "warmongers" from the US government, according to The Detroit News.

The MAGA spearhead noted that the crowd in the convention hall was more "low key" than the rallies he traditionally addresses.

At one point, Trump claimed, "We’ve never been closer to World War III than we are right now. It’s a terrible thing." He went on to say that if he's elected in November, he would have the war between Russia and Ukraine settled "very fast."

The former president also said that he wanted to impose a penalty that would require those who burn US flags to serve a year in jail during his speech inside Detroit's riverfront convention center.

After his hour-long speech, Trump helped deliver pizza to the Trump Force 47 campaign office in Macomb County, according to Eric Castiglia, who said, "He literally walked in and thanked everybody."

Internet mocks Donald Trump as he calls himself 'highly educated'

Several netizens took jibes at Donald Trump as he called himself "highly educated" and bragged about his sophisticated vocabulary in Detroit.

One wrote, "Also Trump: the great Hannibal Lecter.... His choice of words sucks. What a loser!" while another added, "Donald Trump is a stupid person's idea of smart."

"Sometimes, actions speak louder than words—and no amount of sophistication can cover up the truth," remarked a person, and someone else stated, "Still failed to retain your President seat."

One more quipped, "He's the character in a ridiculous comedy about a stupid person running for president BY ACCIDENT." "Trump couldn’t spell sophisticated," joked another person.

"Highly educated persons do not blow a trumpet. It's the first indicator that he is not," remarked an individual.

A netizen wrote, "Hey @realDonaldTrump, hate to break it to you, but it’s obvious to the rest of us that your vocabulary is EXTREMELY LIMITED! Sorely lacking! Highly inadequate! Just like your ability to run a successful real estate business! And the presidency! Even your campaign! Might want to dig a bit deeper for those highly educated, sophisticated ‘good’ words… Or maybe RFK Jr’s brain worm has found a new home."
