LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent episode of 'Morning Joe', MSNBC host Joe Scarborough took House Speaker Mike Johnson to task for labeling a bipartisan immigration bill as "dead on arrival".

According to Radaronline, Johnson's opposition to the bill, which seeks to address the ongoing border crisis, drew strong criticism from Scarborough and his co-hosts during the Monday morning, January 5, segment.

Johnson's harsh critique sparks controversy

Over the weekend, Johnson voiced his discontent with the proposed legislation, asserting, "I've seen enough. This bill is even worse than we expected, and won't come close to ending the border catastrophe the President has created."

He went on to quote the lead Democrat negotiator, stating, "Under this legislation, 'the border never closes.' If this bill reaches the House, it will be dead on arrival."

Scarborough responded to Johnson's remarks by accusing him of spreading "lies" and brought up Senator James Lankford's comment urging lawmakers to read and understand the bill's strength.

Scarborough did not mince words while expressing his views on Johnson, calling him "dangerous and pathetic".

Scarborough slams Johnson's alleged political maneuvers

According to Scarborough, Johnson's decision to prioritize politics over critical issues like preventing the influx of fentanyl and ensuring border security is both "dangerous and pathetic".

Scarborough accused Johnson of deliberately contributing to the chaos at the border to undermine President Joe Biden. He drew parallels to former President Donald Trump's desire for economic downturns, stating, "It's just like Donald Trump saying he wants the economy to crash and he wants there to be a depression. He wants Joe Biden to be Herbert Hoover."

Scarborough continued to lambast Johnson for playing into the hands of foreign leaders like Vladimir Putin and President Xi Jinping by hindering important policies, including funding for Israel and relief efforts in Gaza. He emphasized that vital matters were being obstructed because of Johnson's allegiance to Trump's directives.

The MSNBC host concluded by highlighting the impact of Trump's influence on preventing essential decisions, stating, "So, again, this is all — all of these things that are important are being stopped now because Donald Trump told a grown-up man, 'Don't do that.'"
