WASHINGTON, DC: MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace praised President Joe Biden during an interview with White House Counsel spokesman Ian Sams on Tuesday, July 2, Fox News reported.

After his pitiful performance in the first presidential debate against presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, voices within the Democratic Party and its supporters are being raised to replace the incumbent as the nominee for the upcoming general election.

However, Wallace, who served as the communications director for President George W Bush, praised Biden's leadership as "historically successful."

Nicolle Wallace's conversation with Ian Sams

The anchor began her segment discussing the US Supreme Court's decision on presidential immunity, before bringing up an article published by The New York Times, which cited several "current and former" Biden officials who claimed to have seen the commander-in-chief "confused or listless" and struggling to keep "the thread of conversations" behind closed doors.

"Have you heard any accounts like that or witnessed that?" Wallace asked Sams, to which he replied that Biden continues to be "sharp" and asking "tough questions."

While Biden admittedly had a "bad night" during last week's debate, Sams argued that the president's record in office showed that he has displayed "extremely strong wisdom and judgment" over the last three and a half years.

"You think of the way he’s brought the world together against autocratic threats around the world. Those are the things that he has brought to the Oval Office to help restore American leadership and to try to help bring some normalcy back to this country," said Sams, making Wallace add, "You don't have to persuade me."

She fondly recalled her interview with Biden that took place a year ago, before asking the official if he would acknowledge that Biden's Democratic allies were facing a "political crisis" at present.

"I think everyone agrees he's governed not just effectively but in a historically successful manner, and I saw what you described when I sat across from him on my own set. It was an honor and privilege. But there is something – there is great concern politically among your own allies after last Thursday’s debate. Is that something you are helping to contend with or can acknowledge?" she asked.

In response, Sams shared that the President will continue to talk to the public "to explain the job he’s doing as president and why he’s the right person with the right character, wisdom, and judgment for the job."

Wallace later highlighted that the "great concern" over Biden's mental acuity is not about his ability to govern, "but about his ability to prevail on November 2."

Internet slams Nicolle Wallace for gushing over President Biden

On Facebook, netizens called out the network host for her appreciation of President Joe Biden.

"A disgrace how the media is complicit in covering up the president’s real condition," wrote a social media user.

"Hey lady, you know we can see and hear him, right?" asked another.

"He will have plenty of time in January for interviews," wrote one person, indicating Biden would lose the top job after the election.

"Well, her admiration standards, are pretty LOW!!!" added another.

"Awww. Everyone is super nice to senile grandparents," one individual said.
