LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace has raised serious concerns, asserting that former President Donald Trump is preparing for "a hostile takeover" of the Department of Justice if he wins the November election against President Joe Biden.

In response to Trump's accusation that Biden and his allies had "weaponized the Department of Justice" against him, Wallace stated unequivocally, "No, they didn’t. Trump committed a crime and the people who helped him do so, some of them went to jail, some of them received immunity, they testified, and a jury of his peers convicted him. He’s held accountable by a local prosecutor working independently of the Department of Justice. Full stop."

Wallace and Maddow warn of threats to justice and press freedom

Wallace cautioned against dismissing Trump's rhetoric as mere campaign strategy, highlighting its potential impact on his supporters.

She warned, "It’s how Trump and his allies are today priming Trump’s supporters for what will be nothing less than a hostile takeover of the Department of Justice should Trump prevail in November, turning around the very instruments used to keep Trump in check into political weapons. And don’t take our word for it; they’re saying it out loud."

Looking ahead, Wallace expressed personal concerns about the future of media freedoms under a potential second Trump administration. "This time next year I might not be sitting here," she remarked. "There might not be a White House Correspondents’ Dinner or free press."

Rachel Maddow, Wallace's colleague at MSNBC, echoed these worries, emphasizing to CNN's Oliver Darcy her apprehensions about potential reprisals against media critics in a future Trump presidency.

Maddow questioned the intended purposes of certain proposed facilities, stating, "What convinces you that these massive camps he’s planning are only for migrants? So, yes, I’m worried about me — but only as much as I’m worried about all of us."

One commented, "You have the mental capacity of a vacuum tube!"

Another added, "I'll take Fear Mongering From MSDNC for $800, Alex."

One user replied, "He's going to turn the DOJ into what it is now?"
