WASHINGTON, DC: NBC has issued a statement after their anchor Kristen Welker "incorrectly implied" that Kamala Harris was present during the dignified transfer of US troops killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

In their social media statement, the network wrote, “On our broadcast this morning, we incorrectly implied that both President Biden and Vice President Harris attended the dignified transfer of 13 American service members killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal. Biden was in attendance but Harris was not.”

"Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — where were they? Joe Biden was sitting at a beach. Kamala Harris was sitting at her mansion in Washington, DC. She was four miles away — ten minutes. She could've gone to the cemetery and honored the sacrifice of those young men and women, but she hasn't. She never has spoken to them or taken a meeting with them," Cotton told Welker.

He added, "It is because of her and Joe Biden's incompetence that those 13 Americans were killed in Afghanistan."

It was then Welker, who interrupted with, "They did meet them during the dignified transfer. They were with them at the dignified transfer," as per Fox News.

Internet slam Kristen Welker for trying to protect Kamala Harris

Netizens strongly expressed their displeasure over Kristen Welker's erroneous remark. Many questioned her for favoring Kamala Harris and misleading viewers.

A user questioned Welker's integrity over X, "She just flat out lied to protect Kamala. Inexcusable as a member of the press. Absolutely zero integrity."

"Thats a start. Apologize on air, so all the people who watched, who don't have X know you lied," another slammed the network.

One emphasized, "Exactly what I have been saying! It wasn’t IMPLIED! She flat-out said it!"

"Dignified transfer Is that what you called what Biden was doing it looked more like he was checking the time to see if it was nap time vacation time or chocolate chip ice cream time," one trolled Biden.

"I guess they don't understand that even if she 'implied' it, she's still a liar and semantics don't change that," another shared.

"Kristen Welker went from 'implying' to outright fibbing to cover for Kamala," a user commented.
