WASHINGTON, DC: An NBC reporter challenged President Donald Trump after he called the network “one of the worst on television” during a tense White House press briefing.

The moment unfolded while Trump was taking questions alongside Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin, reported by Mediaite.

NBC reporter claps back at Trump’s criticism of network

The president’s frustration surfaced when an off-camera NBC journalist questioned his administration’s handling of economic policies. As Trump accused NBC of bias, the reporter swiftly reminded him of his long-standing history with the network.

Trump responded, “There is no inconsistency. Only with NBC, which is one of the worst networks on television, by the way.” The reporter then pointed out, “It was your home for many years.”

Trump, however, quickly pivoted back to defending his stance, dismissing accusations of policy inconsistency as “flexibility.”

He went on, “Let me just tell you the inconsistency. I have the right, I have the right to adjust and I was called by the automakers, as an example, general motors, Ford, etc, the big three, the big four, and they asked me to do them a favor. Could I delay it for a period of four weeks? So that they are not driven into a little bit of a disaster for them? They actually love what I am doing, but they had a problem. And I am not like a block adjust, I won’t delay. It’s called flexibility. It is not called inconsistency. It is called flexibility. You want me to be flexible, too.”

The administration’s handling of tariffs, particularly those affecting Mexico and Canada, has faced bipartisan criticism. The Wall Street Journal recently published an editorial urging legal action against the White House, condemning Trump’s approach as reckless economic interference.

Even typically supportive outlets like Fox Business have challenged the president on the issue. Anchor Maria Bartiromo pressed Trump in a recent interview, noting that business leaders were growing frustrated with the administration’s unpredictable trade policies.

Donald Trump has once again found himself at the center of online controversy after branding NBC as “one of the worst networks on TV.” His remarks, made during a recent public appearance, quickly sparked backlash across social media, with critics accusing him of deflecting accountability.

Users didn’t hold back in their criticism, with one writing, “He will never admit anything wrong about him or his government… that’s how dictators do!”

Others questioned the media’s response, with one person noting, “Trump is a sick sick man and pathetic how many MAGA’S do not see this.”

Some users mocked Trump’s mannerisms, with one commenting, “His hands move like that a sure sign he’s lying.”

Another sarcastically wrote, “He is the best mental gymnast I’ve ever seen.”

“Why do reporters waste their damn time going to that Oval Office?” one person asked. Another wrote, “He is such a cry baby.”
