Netanyahu breaks silence with video debunking death rumors during conflict
JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video Sunday, March 15, responding to viral online rumors falsely claiming he had died.
Appearing on camera while drinking coffee, Netanyahu dismissed the speculation with humor, remarking that he is “dead for” coffee and for his people rather than actually deceased.
To emphasize the point, the Prime Minister raised his hands toward the camera and invited viewers to count his fingers.

Netanyahu also used the video message to praise the conduct of the Israeli public during the ongoing conflict.
He said the behavior and resilience of citizens encourage Israel’s leadership and security institutions, including the government, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and the Mossad.
Intense strikes continue in two fronts
In the video, Netanyahu confirmed that Israeli military operations are continuing across multiple fronts. He said Israeli forces are carrying out actions against Iranian targets, but did not disclose operational details.
“We are doing things that I cannot share at this moment, but we are doing things, hitting Iran very hard even on this day,” Netanyahu said in the message. He added that Israeli operations are also continuing in Lebanon.
The Prime Minister said the government intends to continue military actions in accordance with the objectives set during the current conflict. He did not provide specific timelines or operational information.
Home front resilience gives government strength
Netanyahu also addressed daily life for Israeli civilians amid the ongoing security situation. He encouraged people to take breaks outdoors while remaining alert and staying close to protected spaces.
Strict defensive guidelines are being gradually eased in less-targeted regions, reflecting a government strategy to maintain a functioning economy despite ongoing missile barrages (IDF)He urged the public to continue following instructions issued by Israel’s Home Front Command and local authorities. Netanyahu said adherence to safety guidelines remains essential while military operations continue.
The Prime Minister credited the public’s discipline and resilience as an important element of national security during the conflict.
Dangerous calories and a cheers
The video ended on a lighter note as Netanyahu thanked his host for the coffee he was drinking. He joked that while the security situation was being managed, the “calories” in the drink appeared “very dangerous.”
Netanyahu then raised his cup and said “L’chaim,” meaning “cheers,” to the camera.
The video was released after false reports about the Prime Minister’s death circulated online over the weekend, with the appearance seemingly intended to counter the rumors while offering a brief public update amid the ongoing conflict.
