NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Nicki Minaj says she can understand the frustration President Donald Trump may feel when he sees negative claims about himself repeatedly appearing in the media, arguing that constant exposure to allegations can shape public opinion even when the person at the center of them has no opportunity to respond each time.

Speaking on 'My View with Lara Trump', the rapper asked viewers to imagine having to start every day by seeing what they believe are false reports about themselves while being unable to address every individual claim.

Nicki Minaj opens up on Trump's media pain

Minaj spoke bluntly as she addressed Trump's repeated criticism of several media outlets in recent times.

“Think about how you would feel, waking up and reading lies about yourself every day! And you're not able to have a rebuttal for every lie, every day,” Minaj said.

She suggested that the problem goes beyond any single report.

According to Minaj, when similar claims are repeated often enough, people can eventually absorb them as facts, particularly when they are young and have limited knowledge of the person being discussed.

“They put out so many lies that after a certain amount of time, especially when you are young, you think they are true,” she said.

Minaj used the example of someone being labeled racist, saying that a young person who repeatedly encounters such a description may simply accept it as true and consequently form a negative opinion of that individual.

Her criticism was directed at what she sees as the media's failure to fully acknowledge its influence on how audiences perceive political figures.

“That's why I don't like the fact the media does not understand their responsibility, and the role they played in all of this!” she said.

The conversation also touched on the upcoming elections and the role of younger Americans.

Minaj told young voters that they should not assume their participation is insignificant as she urged them to “vote red.”

“Now is not the time to think that your voice will not be heard,” she said, adding that their voices are “very necessary” for the country and the world.

Nicki Minaj says Trump is 'charismatic'

Minaj argued that people should not necessarily form their entire understanding of Trump from what they encounter in news coverage.

Instead, she said, getting to know the president or independently researching his record could lead people to view him differently.

“If they got to know him or just did their own research, I think they'd know it's been political theater,” Minaj said.

Her comments came while discussing her own continued support for Trump, which she said she does not intend to apologize for despite criticism.

“I'm not gonna make an excuse for that, ever! He's helped me in his own way, and I've made it my mission to be someone that supports him!” she said.

Minaj has also spoken positively about Trump's personality, describing him as funny and charismatic and authentic.
