WASHINGTON, DC: Former Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley advised Donald Trump and the GOP to be prepared for a younger opponent who could replace President Joe Biden after his chaotic debate performance.

In a Wall Street Journal article published on Saturday, June 29, the former South Carolina governor warned the Democrats would bring in a "vibrant" rival to replace the 81-year-old incumbent.

"They are going to be smart about it: they're going to bring somebody younger, they're going to bring somebody vibrant, they're going to bring somebody tested," said Haley.

She added, "This is a time for Republicans to prepare and get ready for what's to come because there is no way that there will be a surviving Democratic Party if they allow Joe Biden to continue to be the candidate."

Nikki Haley says President Joe Biden was 'amazingly unfit' in CNN presidential debate

Haley's take on the future of Biden's reelection bid comes amid mounting pressure for the incumbent to step down to make way for a younger, more fit candidate owing to his lackluster performance in the June 27 debate.

The octogenarian sounded raspy at the start, which the White House later said was due to a cold, as he faced his Republican opponent for the first time in the 2024 race.

Biden fumbled throughout the 90 minutes, sometimes failing to form sentences properly, leading Trump to comment at one point, "I really don't know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don't think he knows what he said either."

Haley watched the debate with her husband and friends at her South Carolina home, as per the Wall Street Journal article.

Noting she was "shocked" after the major party candidates' face-off, the former UN ambassador remarked, "What we saw was that Trump was strong, but I don't even think that mattered because Biden was so amazingly unfit. The way he lost his train of thought, the way he couldn't grasp topics of what he needed to talk about."

Assessing the debate, Haley previously predicted on X (formerly Twitter) that Biden "will not be the Democratic nominee" in light of his poor performance during the presidential debate.

The disastrous performance intensified concerns about whether Biden's age and cognitive ability allowed him to be a fit candidate who could carry out presidential duties for one more term if reelected. Despite calls to replace the president, the Biden campaign declared he would not drop out of the race.

Nikki Haley faces mockery as she warns Donald Trump to be prepared for a 'young' opponent

Netizens resorted to making fun of Haley, who dropped out of the Republican presidential race after Super Tuesday, as she advised Trump to prepare for a "young" and "vibrant" rival who could replace Biden.

"Meet Nikki Haley, apparently the smartest Democratic operative in the room," quipped a person and another said, "RINO stand-for-nothing, has been Haley makes more stupid noise. Yawn."

Someone else expressed, "Nikki Haley is a loser. Do not take any political advice from this person." "Of course she says that, I bet she would switch parties to be a candidate," argued an individual.

One more joked, "She's hoping they bring in @NikkiHaley."

"She’s campaigning for VP," said one more, and a netizen offered, "Clearly Nikki is begging for VP position. I hope @realDonaldTrump is smarter than falling for her lies. What a disgusting individual!"

"It seems like Nikki and other Republicans are sending subversive signals to the Democrats on what they should do to beat Trump so the party can finally be liberated from him for good. Very stealthy," wrote a Facebook user.

Another commented, "Never Nikki --- needing to be relevant again....So along LO S ER."
