CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA: In his first rally following the presidential debate, former President Donald Trump claimed President Joe Biden's "personal decline" was not the "biggest problem" of the country but his disastrous policies.

The 45th president addressed his supporters at Historic Greenbrier Farms in Chesapeake, Virginia, on Friday, June 28, a day after his first face-off the election year with Biden, who performed poorly on the debate stage hosted by CNN in Atlanta, Georgia.

Trump advised the crowd of over a thousand to consider one crucial question before heading to the polls on November 5.

"The question every voter should be asking themselves today is not whether Joe Biden can survive a 90-minute debate performance, but whether America can survive four more years of crooked Joe Biden in the White House," the ex-president said, according to Fox News.

Donald Trump claims Joe Biden's policies are 'causing America's decline'

In his first campaign appearance post-presidential debate, Trump attempted to redirect the voters' concerns about Biden's age toward his policies.

"Remember, the biggest problem for our country is not Joe Biden's personal decline," the MAGA spearhead argued. "It's that Joe Biden's policies are causing America's decline at a level that we've never seen before.

"That's why this November, the people of Virginia and the people of America are going to tell crooked Joe Biden, 'You're fired,'" he added.

Coming face to face for the first time in the 2024 race, Trump made numerous false claims throughout the 90-minute debate, whereas Biden's raspy voice and struggle to find words added to concerns about his age and capability to lead the US for one more term.

The president admitted his poor performance while speaking at a campaign rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, noting that his current debating skills were not as good as before. Nevertheless, the octogenarian said, "I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done," adding that Trump would "destroy" democracy if elected, but he would "defend" it.

Though the president's allies, including former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, supported Biden after the debate, the editorial of The New York Times called on the incumbent to exit the 2024 race.

Internet slams Trump for claiming Biden's policies led to America's decline

Netizens criticized Trump for claiming Biden's policies and not his age were the "biggest problem" of America.

"Sure, Joe is older & slower, but Trump is in EVIL cognitive decline. Joe speaks Truth. Trump is allergic to Truth..stays far far from Truth. Trump is filled with hate & lies, no light within. Trump's whole demeanor is livid, vindictive revenge heaped with LIES stoking all," a user wrote.

"NO. The biggest problem for this country is YOU," another remarked.

"Huh? Econ is growing, unemployment has remained at below 4% for 28 straight mos & inflation has fallen from a high of over 9% to 3.3%. Prices too r falling, albeit not as rapidly. Real wages also have risen. Trump left office w a crashed econ & had less jobs than when he came in," added a third user.

"No, the biggest problem is that the GOP are just as corrupt as the DNC. The biggest problem is that most of those who support the GOP are brainwashed into thinking they're 'fighting the Left'," read a fourth response.

"Trump is the worst what a bully!!!!" another person wrote.

"He created 15 million jobs. That’s close to 5 percent of US population. Trump destroyed jobs and his stupid tariff idea is a disaster they will crush most people in this country," someone else said.
