'No one trusts the media': Joy Reid trolled for always carrying 'Trump indictments book' with her
LOS ANGELES,CALIFORNIA: MSNBC host Joy Reid has revealed that she carries around indictments against Donald Trump wherever she travels, likening them to a revered text like the Bible.
According to Fox News, on a recent episode of 'The ReidOut,' while introducing guests Timothy Hasey, lead investigator of the Jan 6 Committee, and Andrew Weissman, investigator of the alleged Russia collusion, Reid humorously mentioned misplacing her copies of Trump's indictments despite their constant presence with her.
Joy Reid's quip and alignment with MSNBC's perspective on Trump's legal battles
"I forgot my copy of my book. I bring the Trump indictments book everywhere I go. I take it around like Trump takes his pretend Bible," Reid quipped during the show.
This playful jab seems to allude to Trump's "God Bless the USA" Bibles, which he began marketing in March, incorporating patriotic elements such as the United States Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and other national symbols.
Reid's enthusiasm over Trump's legal entanglements aligns with sentiments shared by other MSNBC hosts and analysts. She recently commended the significance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officials leading the charges against Trump.
"But for me, there is something wonderfully poetic about the fact … the first person to actually criminally prosecute Donald Trump is a Black Harvard grad [Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg]," Reid remarked.
Black figures leading legal action against Trump
She highlighted the irony of figures like Bragg, who Trump's former staff may have wished to exclude from elite institutions like Harvard Law School, are now holding Trump accountable.
Moreover, Reid highlighted the pivotal roles played by Black women like District Attorney Fani Willis in Georgia and New York Attorney General Letitia James in bringing Trump to justice.
She emphasized how Trump, a symbol of efforts to dismantle multicultural democracy, is now facing consequences enforced by the very diversity he sought to undermine.
"And a Black woman is doing that same exact thing in Georgia and a Black woman forced you to pay a $175 million fine," Reid continued, referring to Willis in Georgia and James in NY.
"Donald Trump is being held to account by the very multicultural, multiracial democracy that he’s trying to dismantle … It says something good about our country that we’re still capable of having that happen. Go, DEI. My DEIs are bringing it home."
Andrew Weissman's insight on podcast dynamics and celebrity narrators
Andrew Weissman, another guest on Reid's show, contributed to MSNBC's 'Prosecuting Donald Trump' podcast, which delves into the legal proceedings against the former president.
Reflecting on the podcast's use of celebrities like Liam Neeson and Glenn Close to narrate Trump's charges, Weissman humorously remarked, "I think Glenn Close could probably read anything, and we’d be like, ‘that’s really serious.’"
Social media reaction highlights allegations of bias and obsession
The comments on social media regarding MSNBC host Joy Reid's remarks reflect a spectrum of opinions.
While some users accused her of harboring a secret admiration for Trump, citing her alleged imitation of his hairstyle, others criticize her for blurring the lines between journalism and activism.
One user wrote, "She’s secretly is in love with him. That’s why she copies his hair."

Another added, "Just think the media is supposed to be impartial; it’s obvious. The media is not. This is what’s wrong, and no one trusts the media. She should take her job more seriously as a journalist and not as an activist.
