Noami Biden calls her father Hunter Biden 'really great' during emotional testimony at gun trial
WILMINGTON, DELWARE: Emotional scenes were witnessed in the courtroom on Friday, June 7, when Hunter Biden's eldest daughter Noami Biden, 30, took the stand to testify in his father's criminal gun trial.
Noami described meeting her father in Los Angeles with her now-husband, Peter Neal, in the summer of 2018 when he was in rehab.
'He just seemed really great,' says Noami Biden in her testimony about Hunter Biden
The prosecutors are trying to corroborate details that around the time when Hunter purchased a gun, he was addicted to drugs and lied in the federal form that he was clean.
“He just seemed really great, Noami recalled the meeting with Dad after a long and having lunch with him. I hadn’t seen my dad in a really long time,” she said. Naomi said she later texted him saying she was “so proud of him” and happy to introduce him to her partner.
Naomi Biden testified her dad "seemed like the clearest he had been since my uncle died ... he seemed really great.”
Hunter Biden seemed 'hopeful' to Noami Biden a month after he had purchased the gun
Naomi Biden testified that he "seemed great. He seemed hopeful” when she saw him in New York in October 2018, the month he bought the gun.
Noami testified she knew her father was “struggling with addiction” but never saw him doing drugs.
Not sure when her dad started doing drugs, Noami testified, “After my uncle died, things got bad,” she said, referring to Beau Biden’s death in the summer of 2015.
At the same time when she was in Brooklyn, New York, Noami testified about exchanging vehicles with Hunter taking the truck and daughter keeping Joe Biden’s Cadillac.
But when asked if she found any drugs in the car, Noami testified "No," as NBC News reported.
Hunter Biden wanted to exchange a car at 2 am, say prosecutors
Prosecutor Leo Wise inquired about text messages exchanged between Naomi Biden and her father, concerning a trip he planned to New York around October 17, 2018.
Wise inquired whether she recalled getting a text from her father just before midnight on October 17, inquiring if she was awake. She replied much later, at around 2 am, explaining that she had fallen asleep earlier.
Subsequently, Hunter Biden sent a message, requesting if her now-husband, Peter, could take the truck to 57th and 5th Avenue to exchange cars.
Prosecutors inquired if she knew why Hunter was asking to exchange cars at 2 am, to which Noami replied “No."
After receiving Hunter Biden's text requesting the truck, Naomi Biden responded with "Right now?" but there was no further communication from him, as stated by Wise.
Hunter Bidens apologized to his daughter for being so unreachable
On October 18, Noami told her father that Peter would come to him to swap the cars but, at the same time, she also wanted to meet her father before she left.
“I’m really sorry dad, I can’t take this. I don’t know what to say. I just miss you and want to hang out with you,” she texted Hunter along with a sad emoji, according to prosecutor Leo Wise.
"I’m sorry I’ve been so unreachable, it’s not fair to you,” Hunter replied. When asked if she knew why he was so unreachable, she replied no.
She was asked if she knew Hunter was meeting "someone named Frankie?" Wise inquired. "No," she responded.
Wise then asked if he had disclosed giving Frankie access to his Wells Fargo account. Again, she answered no.
Frankie is the alias Zoe Kestan used for a drug dealer who met with Hunter at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York during their stay in the winter of 2018.
After her testimony concluded, Naomi Biden had tears rolling down her cheek, which she swiftly wiped with a trembling hand as noted by CNN.
