'Nothing but gaslighting': Joe Biden trolled as he tweets about upcoming State of the Union address
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share an announcement about his upcoming State of the Union address, which will be delivered at 9 pm on March 7.
The State of the Union is an annual speech made by the President of the United States in front of a joint session of the Congress, usually towards the beginning of the calendar year, reporting on the current condition of the nation.
Social media users, however, did not seem to be very excited about the prospect, calling out the incumbent President and his administration over issues such as inflation and border security that are negatively impacting the United States.
President Joe Biden's tweet
From the official X account of POTUS, Biden posted a Twitter chain on March 6, that began, "Tomorrow evening at 9 PM ET, I'll deliver my State of the Union address. Here's what that means."
"The State of the Union isn't just a speech – it's my report to you, the American people. You hired me to get the job done, build an economy that works for working people, and make life better for families. Tomorrow, I'll update you on our progress and lay out the path ahead."
"My Administration has accomplished more over three years than most presidents have in eight," he continued.
"From investing in infrastructure and lowering health care costs to abolishing junk fees, making the wealthy pay their fair share, and fighting for women's reproductive health care."
"But there is still so much to do before the job's done. That includes lowering prescription drug prices for every American, getting student debt relief to hardworking borrowers, restoring a woman's right to choose, and banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines."
Biden concluded by sharing a link where online users can watch the address, signing off, "Tune in at 9 PM ET tomorrow evening for my plan on how we get it done."

Not many people were happy about the State of the Union address. Many took to social media platforms to share their reactions.
One user said, "The State of the Union under Biden is bad. Inflation has averaged 5% for 3 years. It was 1/3 that with Trump. Real wages are down. They were up with Trump. We’re in 3 new wars. We were at peace with Trump. 8 million illegals have entered. We had a secure border with Trump."
