WASHINGTON, DC: During a radio interview with host Zerlina Maxwell, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton acknowledged the age concerns surrounding President Joe Biden, stating that Americans need to 'accept the reality' of his age and vote for him to protect democracy from Donald Trump, according to a report by DailyMail.

Clinton's observation that Biden is 'old' is notable as few Democrats have publicly acknowledged his advanced age at this high point in his political career.

What did Hillary Clinton say about Joe Biden’s age during radio interview?

Hillary Clinton informed host Maxwell about a recent conversation she had regarding the president's age who’s 81 years old now.

“Somebody the other day said to me … 'Well, but, you know, Joe Biden's old.' I said, 'You know what, Joe Biden is old. Let's go ahead and accept the reality. Joe Biden is old,’” the 76-year-old former FLOTUS asserted.

“So we have a contest between one candidate who's old but who's done an effective job and doesn't threaten our democracy,” she added. “And we have another candidate who is old, barely makes sense when he talks, is dangerous, and threatens our democracy.”

Clinton was alluding to the former president Donald Trump, who is only a year her senior at 77.

“So, really, pick between your two old ones and figure out how you're going to save our democracy,” she explained.

“Because no matter where you stand on the political spectrum, you want to maintain freedom and the rule of law and protection for people's fundamental rights, or at least I used to think so,” Clinton claimed.

According to a recent survey conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, approximately 60% of voters expressed uncertainty about the impact of President Joe Biden's age on his potential second term.

This survey revealed that almost 6 in 10 respondents lack confidence in President Biden's mental capability to serve effectively as president. Similarly, the survey disclosed that former President Donald Trump, who is 77 years old, did not receive better ratings than President Biden.

Nearly 60% of respondents also reported a lack of confidence in the mental capability of the Republican presidential front-runner.

Questions surrounding the president's age have been brought to the forefront of national attention following a report by Special Counsel Robert Hur released by the Department of Justice in January.

In the comprehensive 388-page report, Hur stated that during the investigation into President Biden's handling of classified documents, it became apparent that he had a 'poor memory' and 'diminished faculties'.

Joe Biden, described in the report as “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man,” was unable to recall when he served as Vice President and even the date of his own son Beau's death.

The Commander-in-Chief, however, immediately responded to these damning claims made by Hur, asserting that his “memory is fine.”

One user suggested, "Well everyone is moving on from Trump's age, so might as well move on from Biden's age also."

Another X user asked, "Let's go ahead and accept the reality that Biden will lose in Nov Right? Hillary?"

Finally, this user tweeted, "We have accepted the reality that he's old. He's so old in fact, that he appears to be in significant cognitive decline, and since he's the president that is most people's concern. We don’t want a president that is in cognitive decline."
