NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former Harvard president Claudine Gay is once again making headlines on social media, with confirmation that she will continue to receive her $900K salary despite resigning from her position.

Professor Claudine Gay, who recently resigned as Harvard University president over plagiarism allegations, will return as a faculty member of the Ivy League institution and likely earn nearly $900,000 annually.

Following her resignation, Fox News host Sean Hannity labeled her a 'copycat,' leading to widespread criticism online.

Adding to the controversy, former President Barack Obama reportedly privately lobbied for Harvard University to retain Gay to retain her position, amid increasing calls for her resignation over allegations of tolerating antisemitism on campus and facing accusations of serial plagiarism in her academic work.

Fox News host Jesse Watters also took a jab at Gay, accusing her of committing the "gravest sin in academia" following her resignation. The online discussions surrounding her continue to intensify, drawing attention to her controversial tenure at Harvard.

The New York Post has reported that Gay, who resigned amid allegations of inadequate response to antisemitism and academic plagiarism, is poised to return to a faculty position at the Cambridge, Massachusetts school.

Before assuming the role of president just six months ago, Gay earned $879,079 as the dean of arts and sciences in 2021 and $824,068 in 2020, based on university records.

While specific details about her new faculty position were not disclosed on Tuesday, the New York Post anticipates that her salary will likely be comparable to or potentially higher than her previous earnings.
