WASHINGTON, DC: A political reporter from NPR has been forced into seclusion after devoted fans of Donald Trump identified her as the reporter who hit the president on the face with a boom mic during his interaction with the press at JBA last week.

Laura Loomer, an independent journalist, and staunch Trump supporter, recently claimed to have identified the person who smacked her gray fuzzy boom mic into the 78-year-old commander-in-chief’s face, during his recent interaction with the media personnel at the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.

After conducting independent research, Loomer claimed that the political correspondent who was involved in the mishap was NPR reporter Danielle Kurtzleben.

While Kurtzleben has not been formally named as the perpetrator, Loomer said that within 18 minutes of her initial post, the NPR reporter’s social media profile was made private.

Laura Loomer claims NPR’s Danielle Kurtzleben hit Trump with mic

Taking to her X account on Sunday, March 16, Loomer claimed, “I have identified the reporter who hit President @realDonaldTrump in the face with a boom mic this week while he was speaking to the press on the tarmac.”

She continued to identify the reporter as a political correspondent from the government-funded news agency, writing, “Her name is Danielle Kurtzleben @titonka. She is the newly appointed White House reporter for @NPR and a massive Trump hater and LGBTQ advocate who once suggested during the 2024 campaign that Trump only spoke in Howell, Michigan because it has ties to the KKK.”

Loomer’s accusations did not end here, as she speculated, “Did she hit President Trump in the face on purpose?”

While the Loomered founder made a series of posts documenting her findings, in another post, she claimed that just 18 minutes after she made the announcement, the journalist’s X account had been made private.

She wrote, “BREAKING: Just 18 minutes after I exposed the identity of the @NPR White House reporter Danielle Kurtzleben @titonka for hitting President Trump in the face w/ a boom mic on the tarmac, she just LOCKED HER X & protected her tweets so you can’t see how radical & anti-Trump she is.”

In her other tweets, Loomer accused Kurtzleben of being “a massive Trump hater.” She also claimed that the political journalist who has been with the outlet since 2015, is a Democrat supporter and Kamala Harris fan.

After Loomer called Kurtzleben out on social media, the journalist’s X account was made private and she has not spoken about the situation.

When Daily Mail attempted to contact her, they also received a message that she was “out of the office,” and her outlet has also not responded.

Donald Trump was hit by a boom mic during a press conference at JBA

As President Trump was interacting with journalists at the tarmac of JBA on Friday, March 14, the commander-in-chief was hit in the face by a large gray microphone.

According to a video that went viral online, when the president was taking questions from the reporters, he was hit by the fuzzy microphone cover, as the reporter was trying to maneuver the microphone attached to a large pole.

While he immediately gave a bombastic side eye to the reporter, he masked his irritation and made light of the situation.

The president even joked to another female journalist from who he was taking questions, and said, "She made television tonight, she just became a big story tonight, right?"

Continuing with a disbelieving laughter, he said, "Did you see that?”

According to Daily Mail, following the impact, the president leaned back to avoid getting hit again, when the female reporter said, “I'm so sorry.”

Another angle showed - which was also pointed out by Loomer - that a female reporter in a tan trench coat appeared to bump the microphone on the president’s face.

While Loomer identifies her as Kurtzleben, no formal accusations have yet been made.
