WASHINGTON, DC: After being found guilty of 34 felonies in Manhattan last week, former president Donald Trump is set to have his New York firearms license revoked, according to sources who spoke to The New York Post.

Trump's concealed carry permit was already suspended last year, but the sources said on Wednesday that unless the former president files a formal appeal, the NYPD will 'likely' withdraw the permit.

Trump's license to carry a gun in NY is expected to be revoked

Notably, convicted criminals are prohibited from owning any kind of handgun by both state and federal law in New York, and Trump is legally required to turn in all of his guns by the time of his July 11 sentence.

According to the sources, Trump may be able to maintain his firearms by requesting a certificate of release from civil disabilities, but his legal staff has not yet applied.

Moreover, the specifics of Trump's license are not available to the public as he requested secrecy in his New York gun license application.

In the unlikely event that an appeals court reverses the GOP front-runner's criminal convictions from the hush money trial, he may also be able to lawfully keep his guns.

A day before his license was revoked, on March 31, 2023, Trump turned up two of his firearms to the NYPD. A third gun was 'lawfully moved to Florida', according to CNN.

However, if the former president is still in possession of the third pistol in the Sunshine State after his criminal conviction, he may face further legal issues.

Notably, felons who have served their sentences are allowed to give their guns to a nearby police station or another person legitimately. Following a spate of terror incidents in Paris in 2016, Trump previously admitted to a French magazine that he is always on edge.

He said, "I always carry a weapon on me. If I’d been at the Bataclan [concert hall] or one of those bars, I would have opened fire."

Internet trolls Trump as sources claim his gun license in NY is expected to be revoked

Many people on the internet grilled Donald Trump as sources claim he is set to have his New York firearms license revoked. A user posted on X, "Old Bat is a Felon" while one added, "HAHAHA…CANT VOTE, CANT OWN A GUN."

Some online comments read: "He’s a convicted felon. Full stop. the end" and "Trump completely lost it. He is a felon 34 times over. And still you pull for him. Why? Is it the stink you like? Because that is his least offensive quality..."

Another comment read, "Did Donnie back out of the June debate yet? Because you know he's going to", while one stated, "If he had been at the Bataclan Hall, he would've been cowering under a seat or table!"
