Paris Jackson seeks $600M transfer from late father Michael Jackson’s estate to family trust
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Paris Jackson is taking another step in her ongoing legal dispute over her late father Michael Jackson’s estate. The singer and actress has asked a Los Angeles judge to order the transfer of $600 million into a family trust meant to benefit her and her two brothers.
In a recent court filing, Paris said the trust has received no money for more than 17 years, even though the estate has made billions of dollars since her father died in 2009. A judge is scheduled to hear Paris’ request on December 4, as per reports.

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson claims family trust has remained unfunded
According to court documents filed on October 29, Paris is seeking a partial distribution of the estate’s assets to the Michael Jackson Family Trust. The trust was established to provide for her and her brothers, Prince Jackson, 29, and Bigi Jackson, 24.
Under the terms outlined in the filing, Michael’s children were supposed to begin receiving income from their respective shares when they turned 21. They were also expected to receive portions of their inheritance at later milestones, including ages 30, 35, and 40.
However, Paris claims those arrangements have not been carried out as intended. Her filing alleges that the siblings remain dependent on the estate’s remaining executor, John Branca, to determine when and how much money they receive.

The petition also points to the estate’s financial success following Michael’s death, including major business deals and asset sales. According to the filing, the estate had approximately $850 million in cash and cash equivalents at the end of 2024.
Paris argues that around $600 million could be transferred to the family trust after accounting for potential liabilities.
Michael Jackson’s Estate pushes back against Paris Jackson’s claims
Jackson’s estate has pushed back against Paris’ request, saying several legal matters must be settled before the trusts can be fully funded. One of the issues is an ongoing dispute with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
“The Estate was able to secure a ruling to significantly reduce that amount, but the matter has not been settled and could still change,” the estate said to PEOPLE. The estate also rejected allegations that it had withheld or reduced payments to the beneficiaries, describing the claim as “a complete fabrication.”
It said more than $200 million had already been distributed for their benefit. The statement further pointed out that, under Michael’s will, “None of his children receive a distribution until they are in their 30s.”

“The Estate looks forward to the time when all issues are resolved so that their trusts can be fully funded as Michael wanted,” the statement concluded. Paris’ spokesperson, however, challenged the estate’s explanation and accused the management of delaying the trust funding.
“The Estate is once again deflecting from its own incompetence. Paris called for the trust to be partially funded, something Mr Branca had the ability and obligation to do long ago. After years of delay, Paris had no choice but to step in herself,” the spokesperson told PEOPLE.
