Pastor Rob McCoy mourns Charlie Kirk, says he never ‘feared death’ because of his Christian faith

OREM, UTAH: Pastor Rob McCoy, a longtime friend and spiritual adviser to Charlie Kirk, paid tribute to the 31-year-old activist after his death during a Utah Valley University event on Wednesday, September 10.
McCoy, who serves as co-chair of TPUSA Faith, called Kirk’s death the act of a “coward” but emphasized that his life will be remembered for his courage and commitment to truth.

Pastor Rob McCoy remembers Charlie Kirk’s faith after Utah shooting
“My friend Charlie Kirk was murdered today by a coward,” McCoy said in a statement shared by journalist Megan Basham. “He built it all with the power of the spoken word. He never used violence but was threatened every day with violence by those who couldn’t contend with logic and truth. And now they have done to my friend what evil always does; it takes away life.”

According to McCoy, Kirk’s faith gave him the strength to face danger without fear. “Charlie did not die however but instead he has begun to truly live. His life was secured eternally by His Savior Jesus Christ,” he said. “This truth allowed Charlie to face every threat with courage because he didn’t fear death. All evil knows is death and they derive power from death. Charlie lived for life and will be remembered for this.”

McCoy added that his “heart is broken” for Kirk’s wife, Erika Frantzve, and their two young children. He insisted, however, that “evil has not prevailed and it will not win.”
Trump directs US flags lowered nationwide in tribute to honor Charlie Kirk
Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA and a leading conservative voice, was shot during the opening stop of his American Comeback Tour. President Donald Trump confirmed his death on Truth Social, praising the activist as “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk.”
“No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” Trump wrote. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
President Trump has since directed that all US flags be flown at half-staff in Kirk’s memory. In a Truth Social post, he announced: “In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, I am ordering all American Flags across the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday (September 14) evening at 6 PM.”
