Kim Kardashian's previous meetings with Donald Trump

The SKIMS founder's involvement in criminal justice reform initiatives gained attention following her meeting with former President Donald Trump at the White House.

In 2018, Kardashian and Alice Marie Johnson, whose life sentence was commuted by Trump, met the 77-year-old politician in the Oval Office.

Her subsequent engagements with the former president in 2019 and 2020 at the White House solidified her commitment to the cause.

Kim Kardashian's White House visit after Armenian Remembrance Day

Kardashian's visit to the White House with Harris comes a day after Armenian Remembrance Day, a poignant reminder of her Armenian heritage.

In 2021, Biden became the first US president to acknowledge the Armenian massacre as a genocide, that took place under the Ottoman Empire.

In 2023, Kardashian's op-ed in Rolling Stone urged the president to intervene in the ongoing conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Her meeting with Harris aligns with the Biden administration's observance of 'Second Chance Month'.

In a presidential proclamation in March, Biden pledged to “recommit to building a criminal justice system that lives up to those ideals so that people returning to their communities from jail or prison have a fair shot at the American Dream."

The president's clemency actions included pardoning 11 people and commuting the sentences of five other individuals.

In a statement issued by Biden, he announced, “Many of these individuals received disproportionately longer sentences than they would have under current law, policy, and practice."

“The pardon recipients have demonstrated their commitment to improving their lives and positively transforming their communities," he added. "The commutation recipients have shown that they are deserving of forgiveness and the chance at building a brighter future for themselves beyond prison walls."
