NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Vice President Kamala Harris took to X (formerly Twitter) to talk about women's healthcare and childbirth on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

While she pushed for advancing women's healthcare across the country as part of her reelection campaign, the Vice President was brutally slammed online for donating funds to Ukraine and Israel rather than utilizing it in the health sector.

Kamala Harris says death rate at childbirth higher in American women

From the official account of the VP, Kamala Harris shared a clip where she said, "In the United States of America, it should not be the case that women here die in connection with childbirth at a higher rate than women in any other wealthy nation in the world."

"In fact, when we took office, in most states, women on Medicaid were only entitled to two months of coverage for postpartum care," she continued.

"So many of you know how I am. We came in and I said, 'Okay, let's issue a challenge,' which I did to every state in our nation. Extend postpartum Medicaid coverage from a measly two months to 12 months. And I am proud ... to report, so far a total of 45 states have now completed that challenge," the Vice President added.

To emphasize the message, she captioned the video, "Women in America die in connection with childbirth at a higher rate than women in any other wealthy nation in the world. President Biden and I are fighting to make sure women get the health care they need."

Internet slams Kamala Harris for talking about death rate during childbirth

Kamals Harris was brutally trolled on the internet as social media users slammed her for donating money to "Ukraine and Israel" instead of using it for the American healthcare system.

"If you were worried about everyone’s healthcare, you would put all the money donated to Ukraine and Israel into healthcare," wrote a social media user.

"This is absolutely false. The numbers are skewed because women who are pregnant and die have the pregnancy listed as the cause of death instead of the underlying condition that actually caused their death," said another.

"She just wants your votes guys," one person wrote.

"Dark days when the leader and co-leader of a nation can’t protect the rights of women… especially a country that calls itself “land of the free.” Women are anything but free in America," bleakly shared another individual.

"That's because we drink more Bud Light than any other country in the world...," one social media user said.
