LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Pete Davidson is speaking positively about his former relationship with media personality Kim Kardashian nearly four years after their breakup, praising her acting abilities and determination during a recent episode of 'The Pete Davidson Show.'
He reflected on Kardashian's determination, growing acting career, and ability to rise above public criticism years after their August 2022 breakup. The comments offered a rare glimpse into how Davidson views his former partner Elsie Hewitt years after their highly publicized romance ended.
Pete Davidson praises Kim Kardashian's acting career and determination
During the episode on Friday, May 29, of his show, Davidson spoke with comedian Nikki Glaser about Kardashian's growing success in Hollywood. The comedian recalled a moment from their relationship when Kardashian told him she wanted to pursue acting professionally.
Davidson said he immediately supported the idea and admitted he was surprised by how naturally talented she turned out to be on screen.
“I was like, ‘You should do it. You’re genuinely good in front of the camera,’” Davidson said, before adding that she was “actually really good” as an actress.
She made her acting debut in 'American Horror Story: Delicate' in 2023 before landing a starring role in Hulu's 'All's Fair' in 2025. She is also set to star in and produce the upcoming Netflix comedy 'The Fifth Wheel,' which additionally features Glaser.
Glaser also praised her during the conversation, calling her intelligent and determined. She said Kardashian succeeds because, “She’s like, ‘Yeah, people are gonna hate me no matter what, so I might as well do what I want,’” Glaser said.
According to her, Kardashian knowingly entered acting despite public skepticism and proved herself through hard work and confidence. Davidson agreed with her comments and described Kardashian as “superhuman.”
He said, “She’s one of the strongest people I’ve ever met. She really doesn’t let negativity affect what she wants to do," while adding that he learned from her ability to ignore criticism and stay focused on achieving her goals regardless of outside opinions.
Pete Davidson reflects on relationship with Kim Kardashian years after split
Davidson and Kardashian dated for nine months from October 2021 to August 2022 after her divorce from rapper Kanye West. Their relationship became one of Hollywood's most talked-about romances and frequently attracted public attention.
During their relationship, West allegedly spread rumors about Davidson, though sources close to the rapper denied the claims. At the time, insiders close to him reportedly said he chose not to respond publicly out of respect for Kardashian.
Despite the intense media attention surrounding their romance, sources said there was no hostility between the duo when they eventually separated. Insiders claimed the pair decided to remain friends because their demanding schedules and long-distance circumstances made maintaining the relationship difficult.
Since their split, both Davidson and Kardashian have moved on personally. Kardashian was briefly linked to NFL player Odell Beckham Jr before reports surfaced earlier this year about her relationship with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton.
Davidson, meanwhile, recently split from model Elsie Hewitt. His latest remarks suggest he continues to admire Kardashian's resilience, work ethic, and ability to remain focused on her goals despite constant public scrutiny.
