Pete Davidson’s pals defend him after Elsie Hewitt appears to claim he's neglecting her and baby
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pete Davidson’s friends have come out in support of him after his ex Elsie Hewitt appeared to suggest in a since-deleted post that he’s neglecting her and their baby following their split.
The comedian and Hewitt are parents to a five-month-old daughter, Scottie Rose, whom they welcomed in December last year.
Pete Davidson is taking care of everything related to Elsie Hewitt and their daughter, says source
A source close to the former couple shared with Page Six, “Pete has been paying for everything related to Elsie and Scottie,” including “the rent, their living expenses, their health insurance.”
The tipster went on to assert that the 32-year-old actor and the model “may have split but all he wants is for Elsie to be happy and in a good place.”
Pete Davison is fully committed to being a good dad'
“His main priority right now is making sure that Elsie and Scottie are looked after, so it’s utterly confusing to everyone who knows them why she would possibly post anything about him not supporting her. Obviously, they have had personal disagreements and there has been a breakdown in the relationship but he is fully committed to being a good dad,” the source added.
They also further claimed that Hewitt’s sly attack on Davidson that he “is not providing for her” is “utterly false.”
“Pete is doing everything to be super supportive to Elsie, he’s changed his schedule, and done everything he can to be there physically and financially so Elsie can feel supported,” the tipster remarked.
Elsie Hewitt claimed she's doing everything on her own
This came after, on Friday, May 15, the ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum’s ex apparently said in a TikTok video that she has “a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and I'm doing it on my own, which is hard.”
On the same day, she also went on her Instagram Stories, sharing she’s “currently trying to find an assistant/ mother's helper / nanny type / basically [a] right hand person.”
“Apply here if qualified & serious. Only looking @ responses with resumes,” Hewitt added.
A source claimed that less support from Pete Davidson led to his split from Elsie Hewitt
Earlier, a tipster had revealed the reason behind their split.
“Pete has been traveling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him at home after their daughter was born. It was very hard for him because, obviously, he had to work to make money,” they disclosed.
Another source noted that both Davidson and Hewitt “are just focusing 100% on Scottie. Working out the best co-parenting solution is their top priority.”
Hewitt had previously also talked about parenting struggles. In a May 14 post, she wrote, “When you finally get screaming baby down for a nap, and you exhale and sit with yourself for a sec and realize you haven’t breathed for an hour or peed all day. The silence is deafening.”
