Pierce Brosnan dismisses Tom Hardy feud rumors ahead of 'MobLand' Season 2: 'I love the dude'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pierce Brosnan is addressing reports of behind-the-scenes drama on the set of 'MobLand' with Tom Hardy. Brosnan downplayed the reported rifts while reaffirming his admiration for his co-star.
His comments come ahead of the crime drama's second-season return, with a third season already confirmed.
Pierce Brosnan dismisses reports of 'MobLand' cast tensions
During the premiere of 'MobLand' Season 2 in London, Brosnan addressed reports of disagreements on set. Speaking to the Press Association, he described the rumours as a “storm in a teacup, really.”
He continued, “I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly.” The actor also insisted that the cast and crew remain united, saying, “We are rock solid as a company, as a family.”
Brosnan explained that the production moves quickly, leaving little opportunity for the cast to socialize outside work: “Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot. It moves very fast, so it’s not like we go out and socialize and go to the pub or anything like that."
He further said, "Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you’ve done 10 episodes.” The remarks follow reports in May that Hardy would not return for a potential third season because of alleged clashes with production.
But Paramount+ later confirmed in September that the series had been renewed for Season 3, with Hardy, Brosnan and Helen Mirren all set to return.

Mirren has also previously defended Hardy amid the reports. In May, she shared a photograph of Hardy on Instagram with the caption, “Love you now and always.”
The following month, Mirren told Variety, “I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor.” She explained that actors have different working methods and said she remains unconcerned as long as the final result is strong.
“Different actors have different processes. I’ve learnt over the years that some people get to things faster. As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there. Tom is a very special person. I think he’s absolutely remarkable. My support of him is genuine and heartfelt,” she said.
Mirren also expressed hope that another series would move forward, “When you have powerful artistic people working together, the creative process is challenging. People will get their knickers in a twist as we say. We will go forward, absolutely, and it will be even better.”
Speaking with Extra at the premiere, Hardy responded to Mirren’s comments by saying, “Oh, bless her. I love Helen. She’s my friend. So it’s been an interesting few months watching.”
