Randy Quaid slams Anne Hathaway, calls her ‘horrible choice’ for Tom Cruise’s ‘Days of Thunder’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Randy Quaid has publicly slammed Anne Hathaway while expressing his displeasure with her casting in the sequel to ‘Days of Thunder.’
The 75-year-old actor appeared in the original 1990 movie, which also starred Nicole Kidman.

Calling Hathaway “woke,” Quaid posted on X, “We need Nicole back... You need the original girl. It’s not personal; it’s filmmaking.” He also added about the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star, “if you haven’t noticed, she’s pregnant.”
In another X post, the ‘Kingpin’ star asserted that Hathaway “is a leftist, woke, horrible choice for DAYS OF THUNDER NASCAR audience who are MAGA.”
“It’s interesting because when we made the first one there was also a rush to get it out; editors slept in the cutting room on shifts. This is a weird thing, like they want it to come out and tank,” Quaid added.

The BAFTA Award nominee played Tim Daland, the owner of the racing team that recruited Cruise’s Cole Trickle, in the original movie. Kidman played neurosurgeon Dr Claire Lewicki, Cole’s love interest.
But in this movie, which is set for release in Summer 2028, Hathaway, who is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, will reportedly play an engineer and team owner.
In the film’s video announcement, the 43-year-old actress said, “I’m gonna have this baby, then we’re gonna make this movie.”

Meanwhile, decades ago, Kidman and Cruise tied the knot after working together on ‘Days of Thunder.’
At the time, the 59-year-old actress was very young.
Years later, following their 2001 divorce, the A-lister said, “You have to remember literally, because of who I married at such a young age, I was thrust into it since I was 22… [My life has been] more time like that than not. My memory of it not being that is quite blurry, because I was really young.”
“Suddenly I was 22, 23 years old and I had this huge movie star husband. But it just seemed completely natural. We just fell madly in love and it was that simple. I remember people saying to me, ‘OK, well this is really going to affect your career.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t care. I’m in love. I want to be married,’” Kidman reportedly added.
