RAYE shuts down Michael B Jordan romance rumors and confirms secret joint project

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: RAYE finally addressed speculation over her relationship with Hollywood A-lister Michael B Jordan and shut down rumors of a potential romance between the two.

She called the ‘Sinners’ actor "just a friend" and hinted that they are working on a secret joint project that is currently being kept under wraps.

The reaction came after the a photo of RAYE and Jordan sharing a kiss at the 2026 VMAs went viral online. However, the image was fake and created using AI by a parody social media account.

RAYE dismisses Michael B Jordan dating rumors

During an interview with Extra TV at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, the British singer denied rumors of any potential romance with the Oscar-winning actor. For those unaware, their dating rumors began after a random outing.

However, RAYE clarified the situation, dismissed the claims and confirmed that the duo are, in fact, working on a secret project together. 

“You’re doing something with Michael B Jordan, right? What is this project you’re working on?” she was asked. RAYE shared, “I’m technically not allowed to talk about it because I might get in trouble.”

She then went on to clarify, “No, we’re just friends who like roller coasters,” dismissing chances of the duo allegedly dating at the moment.

In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight at the same event, Raye shared that she and Jordan have “been working on some things, which is really nice.”

“I love it,” added the musician, who told the outlet they’re “just lovely friends.” 

“I’m really excited, but also not forcing that chapter,” she further told ET. “It just needs to find you naturally, you know, and they do say love finds you when you stop looking. So, I’m just out here doing my work, getting it done, getting sleep when I can.”

RAYE and Michael B Jordan sparked romance rumors after Six Flags outing

The singer, 28, and the ‘Creed’ actor sparked romance rumors when they first enjoyed a few rides at the Six Flags Magic Mountain outside Los Angeles on Friday, August 7. Now, reports suggest that this was not their first amusement park outing together.

“Things are new between them,” a source told People Magazine earlier. “RAYE tells friends that Michael is her type and that he is warm and kind.”

However, another source shared that they are “just friends,” after they were seen with a group of friends at Six Flags. Interestingly, representatives for RAYE and Jordan are yet to respond to these claims. 

While RAYE has mostly kept her private life out of the public eye, Jordan was previously in a relationship with Steve Harvey's daughter, Lori Harvey. The pair started dating in 2020 before parting ways in 2022.
