CORALVILLE, IOWA: Hardcore Trump loyalists are giving an undemocratic 'divine right' title to the former President as the 2024 presidential race gains momentum.

According to the latest report by Newsweek, Trump's voters consider the frontrunner for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination as "appointed" by God, and his critics are trying to "crucify" him.

His dedicated base of supporters, usually known as MAGA (Make America Great Again), has given the biblical reference amid his legal battles on the four indictments against him impacting his 2024 White House dream.

Adding to their outrage, the Colorado Supreme Court recently ruled Trump is ineligible to be President based on the Constitution's 14th Amendment and barred his candidacy in the state's primary ballot scheduled for March 2024.

What did Trump supporters say about the former President?

The Newsweek report cited two staunch Trump loyalists who claimed about the presidential hopeful's 'divine authority.'

"I believe Trump is appointed by God—appointed-slash-anointed. However, you want to say it," said an Iowan, Joannie Firkins. The 63-year-old, speaking to the Boston Globe at the December 13 Trump rally in Coralville, Iowa, added, "He's the only one that's speaking the truth."

Another resident of Iowa, William Joe White, also told the Globe, "They have no standing to, you know, crucify him. The quiet man has been awakened in this country."

The nation witnessed how Trump supporters acted during the January 6, 2021, insurrection when they stormed the Capitol to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden's votes as Trump claimed the elections were rigged, and in light of this context, these comments add fuel to the fire.

The Coralville rally also witnessed a pastor, another staunch supporter, warning people who "promoted evil" in the country of "retribution" if Trump is elected to Office in 2024.

Netizens react to Donald Trump's 'divine right'

Social media users are ridiculing the MAGA for attributing the former President, who is being indicted by courts multiple times, as a divine appointee.

One user declared it as, "Blasphemy."

Another user said, "Using biblical references when speaking about him, <<<<< the real Trump derangement syndrome."

"That's hysterical. I've never heard any of them say that but I would definitely laugh at them if they did say that," read another comment.

A user reacted, "What a fruitcake."

"That’s because his cult members aren’t followers of the teachings of Jesus," said one user.
